I broke down couple weeks and bought the over priced adapter for a snes pad from http://www.raphnet-tech.com/about.php

This adapter works with no lag using the Xtokki 360 converter on my 360 and pc. Daisy chaining with original xbox, and the gamecube adapter for ps2 have lag :( but the nes emulators seemed to work fairly decent on my xbox and wii. worst part was that the controller adapter didn't work on the multi emulator for ps2.

p.s. super meat boy and snes pad is astonishing

You will have to buy the raphnet adapter for the Gamecube, since on that Z is select. Or build it yourself.
You must have some different gamecube adapter because the two I see on Amazon I have maps only l1/r1 to the z button, while the L2/r2 are the regular shoulders.
