Ok, so i've got the snes emulator "snes9xGX-WiP6", according to the txtfile usable on a modded wii:

AND I've got a couple of SNES dol-files. Can i just burn the "snes9xGX-WiP6.dol" file on a cd-rom and load dol-games from an SD card, or do i need something to open the snes emu with, like the GCOS disc from the Wiinja site?

    Thanx [IMG]

It won't. The classic controller (and Wiimote etc.) only work in Wii mode. This emulator will run in GC mode so will only work with GC controllers. There is no Wii homebrew yet.

I tested the wip6 version, it loads roms from dvd, but the display is all messed up, it looks like someone messed with the sourcecode and overwrite some other sections [IMG]

We'll have to wait for a decent version for the wii.

i used gcboot02.zip to build my image, it was not direct bootable, had to load gcos wiinja first [IMG]

Well, it's not a ROM is it? And GBAtemp has a section devoted to DS homebrew, rite? And almost every release as a direct link to the homebrew, rite? Both being retorhical questions (dunno if i spelt that right) yes, you can post a link to the emu.

That's probably because that tool builds a USA bootable disc. I do wonder though, how did you get GCOS to boot the snes emu afterwords? I've yet to get it load anything properly (using the GCOS wiinjad version).

Hmm, that's not using a bootable disc I reckon (you don't load the snes emu from a disc that should be bootable)? Guess I need to go back and burn me some more discs [IMG].

But what GCOS did you use? The Wiinja'd one?

yes i made the snes disc with gcboot02 but it didnt boot, so i insert gcos wiinja version first and then insert the snes disc and then i can browse the contents.

maybe its also possible to burn a normal dvd disc full with .dol files?

Gonna test that now (filling up a disc with both viper compatible dols and standard dols), last time I tried that it didn't work (but that could be because the disc itself couldn't be read with my Wiinja'd Wii).

*addition; has the GCOS Wiinja'd DVD recently been updated? I've got one burned but that was burned using an ISO that was first downloadable on their site (which does boot btw).

    ok, so:

    1) burn this snes emu unpacked to a dvd with the dol files (roms)
    2) Insert GCOS
    3) Swap with SNES disc,
    4) play good'ol shit [IMG]

Does the snes disc have to be made bootable with that gcboot02?

Okay here are the results of the dutch tele vot.......eum....right [IMG].

    Just tested my newly burned DVD, works like a charm. I've burned a bunch of files on there, but they were mainly fillers. Just to keep everybody satisfied it was the disc here;
    http://wiki.scorpei.com/index.php/Wii_DVD_...starting_with_O
Burned in the same manner as stated there.

I've burned SDload to it inside a folder and started it up (via the GCOS Wiinja DISC; PAL). It loaded fine (unlike anything else I've tried so far; that being those pre made bootable ISO's), I'm using my home made SD adapter btw. From there I started the SNES emu that was linked to here somewhere. The display is however frelled up. I then fired up the one I knew to work with my SD adapter (tested via the GameCube) which worked like a charm (not DVD though, as it's an older build the drive ID isn't detected).

After that I also tested the MFE distro (not sure which version, but it was pre-compiled and downed from sourceforge). That thing did mount my DVD properly and loaded vids and music as it should.

*edit* You can find the SNES emu I used in my guide to build an SD adapter (somewhere near the bottom).

*addition 2* I'll make a guide on how to do this all soon [IMG].
