How do we convince nintendo that a WiFi playable Smash Brothers on the DS is a good idea? I really REALLY want some portable smash brothers.

And speaking of portable online fighting.....

Who else is insanely excited about Ultimate MK3 DS?

They know about it, they were just busy with other games plus they had Brawl on the go too.

I don't think we'll see a DS version, and though they bleed some franchises dry they do like to put a bit of space in between the more respected ones so if we do get a game it'll be late next year or on the next DS.

Not to keen on MK, but SSB would be godsend for sure.

I'm totally stoked about MK. I don't like playing it single player all that much but I spent many quarters on it at the arcades against other people (Not as many as they spent against me though Muahahahaha)

Playing it online, and free even really excites me.

But yeah, SSB would be better. I mean even if they wanted to port the first one over like they ported over mario 64. Put some WiFi on it and one or two more characters and tons of people would be all for it.

Not a best seller, THE best seller. It would definitly have a 50% attach rate. (I want to say 75%, but we pirates don't pay [IMG])
But yeah, we also need Mario Party DS, I mean wtf is up with them not making one yet?

I can't tell if you're serious or not, they announced a Mario Party DS at E3.

There's a lot of games that I'm like WTF about them not bringing out.

Punch-Out compilation. NES, SNES and the arcade version on one cart would be sweet. The arcade version was already a dual screen game.....a perfect fit. For the NES/SNES versions, they could add an option to play with the touchscreen. Ooh, ooh! I wonder if there's a remote possibility of someone making the arcade version work on the DS in emulation......
since Ninty doesn't seem interested in making it.

    F-Zero.

    2D Metroid.

Then you have the 3rd-party stuff like:

    Street Fighter

    Tekken

Gradius (and I don't mean that ancient arcade one in that compilation)

At least we're getting Mortal Kombat and Contra.

But they are really lacking in alluring games when it comes to the old-school gamers like me.

i think they could pull off a really nice version of smash bros for the ds but i doubt it will happen this generation.

nintendo should train up more staff so they can make new versions of
    Fzero
    SMB 2d
    Kirby
    etc.

There is a Japan only SSB like game called Jump Ultimate Stars. All the characters are from anime, so if you can ignore it you'll be fine. I've yet to be able to play it but there is a video review on youtube. It's also wifi and there are people working on a translation.

Personally, I don't ever see it happening...

It could work, and it could work well. But it's the one guarantee that a large portion of the so-called "hardcore" segment of the gaming community will buy a home console (currently the Wii) from Nintendo. The DS is the most popular piece of gaming hardware out right now, and it's one of the most popular pieces of electronic equipment, period. Nintendo doesn't need to do anything to sell these systems. And though the Wii is also flying high, there's been endless grumbling that Nintendo is ignoring the "hardcore" gamer. Smash Bros. will likely always remain on the home console, if for no other reason than to ensure that they grab a nice-sized portion of those gamers. I know plenty of pals who bought a Cube soley to play SSBM, and I know plenty who will buy a Wii soley to play Brawl. That adds up nicely for Nintendo.

So, though it would be sweet, I don't think it will ever happen.

Instead things like Dig Dug Digging Strike get released; things where no soul is waiting for!

Honestly, GBA got lots of nice SNES remakes, but DS is kinda suffering from that. Nintendo could make lots of great N64 titles on DS and sell millions of them. Believe it.

If thats the case, I guess Masahiro Sakurai doesn't like money.......
Eh, but I respect him as a developer as he's not selling out his brand.

Im stoked for MK3 DS. You'll definently see me online!

I don't see why it would be dumbed down. That's what makes portable games work in the first place (or is he referring the the AI?).

Perhaps there needs to be a load of detail on a screen - still nothing that dual screens can't handle [IMG]

What would you use touch screen for if it comes out. Hopefully nothing IMO.
