I went to play Smash 4 today with a friend, I opened the room and suddenly it said..."Time until you can play online again: 71582180 min. 59 sec." What the hell?! I've never used any third party devices on my 3DS, so what gives?!

There have been issues with accidental bans

    Failing that, call Nintendo.

You can't wait 136 years for Smash Bros? What kind of fair weather Nintendo fan are you.

That was patched in an update, though. And I don't use Peach...last time I used the online menu was just to prematurely get rid of a ban that I got from disconnecting from a match. That one was only 20 minutes; suddenly this one spawned out of nothing...

Then call Nintendo and tell them what happened, because that clearly was a mistake on their part. That's really your only option at this point.

It's likely a bug. If you take the number shown, it is just under the max value a 32-bit unsigned integer can hold.

    2^32 - 1 seconds = 4294967295 seconds = 71582788.25 minutes

This issue has been cropping up everywhere and its hilarious. Im sure a patch will come out to fix it but id love to see the reactions of everyone who had this happened. Im sure there have been a few who were like "ah crap, its because im using gateway" paranoia.

i think might be max time ban
    it might
something got mess up with the DST time change (set clocks back 1h)
the ban system sets 10 mi but the 1h fall back messes the value, and set it to max time
