Did you try using Stasis on it? Most slabs are susceptible to that rune.

Ya thanks, I just figured that out, I didn't know how to use stasis to move stuff. Still don't know what to do with the ring of stones in the water.

Yea there are a bunch of boulders i can pick up, I can't seem to get close enough to get one in. I will keep trying.

I found one in a hot spring near Death Mountain.
I threw a rock at the middle of the circular rock formations in the water and a Korok appeared.
Maybe it's similar.

I can't seem to get close enough to get one in.

You have to get really close to the edge, literally one step away, in most cases.

I had to use my ice rune to put a block between my and the circle otherwise I could not throw it far enough
