I decided to homebrew my old wii that couldn't read disks and put usb loader on it, all of my games work fine except skyward sword, i tried the "block reload IOS" or whatever it's called and it didn't work, would transferring another WiiMotion+ game's save solve the issue?, any help is appreciated

2 things :

1)
which cIOS do you have ?
for wiimotion+ games, you need at least cIOS v7 (and block reload IOS enabled).
be sure you use v8 base57, or v10 r52 base57.

2) did you enable EmuNAND save option ?
that game doesn't work with NAND redirection.

if only one game doesn't work, it's possible the problem is your game, not your setting.

also, I can't tell how much I like reports saying "it doesn't work" without really explaining WHAT is not working,
not listed ? not launching ? launching but blackscreen ? launching and playing but freezing ?
and never providing any information (which program version, which cIOS, which cIOS version, wich region, etc.)
hopefully, that game has some specific compatibility requirement, so with some chance it's one of the two I listed above.

if you don't have cIOS, then no wii games would work.
follow syscheck guide in my signature to know what you currently have.
I've tried everything you said and I'm pretty sure my problem is the cios, also when you said people never specify my problem is that every time i load the game it sends me to the wii menu, anyway how would i go about updating my cios? my wii cant connect to my wifi

is that every time i load the game it sends me to the wii menu,
ahhhh, so it's a specific problem ! why didn't you tell that earlier ? You said the game doesn't work, you didn't tell the game didn't launch and the console rebooted.
in that case, yes, it's symptom of missing cIOS, or just because of old cIOS not compatible with motion+ video reloading which would explain better why other games are working.

Why didn't you follow syscheck guide and post the result here?

To install cIOS you'll have to connect to wifi and have a working internet connection.
there are offline method, but it's harder to explain and need to get proper IOS files first.

If your other games are working, you can "bypass" the update of cIOS and use old cIOS with zelda.
Go to zelda's option > Alt dol : from disc !
then select "video.dol"
launch the game, it will not launch the game, but the wiimote+ video. You are forced to watch it to the end, and it will reboot the console, writing an internal setting to remember that you watched that video.
go to zelda's option > alt dol : disabled
play zelda.

My router is incompatible with my wii so either i do the offline method or i go to a friend's house and use their wifi, which i'm willing to do only if the offline method is not a good option

first, let's check what you currently have, instead of making suppositions : please, look in my signature, click on "syschek tutorial" and follow it. Then, post the result here (not in the other thread).

Like I said, maybe it's just a version issue, and you don't need to update.
if you want, you can follow the mini guide I explained above, instead of posting syscheck as it seems you are not ready to do it after asking three times already.

thank you :)

see, you already have cIOS !
You have cIOS rev20, with base 56 in slot 249, and base 38 in slot 250.
the problem is that it's old, and that version can have Wiimote freezing issues. but if it works for you, that's fine.

So, even if it's better to update, we will try what I said above first because of your network issue:

Go to zelda's option > Alt dol : from disc !
then select "video.dol" and save the settings.
launch the game, it will not launch the game, but the wiimote+ video. You are forced to watch it to the end (it's long, be patient), and it will reboot the console, writing an internal setting to remember that you watched that video.
go to zelda's option > alt dol : disabled
play zelda.

Can you please help me I'm having trouble for weeks with Skyward sword and I don't know what to do, i tried searching everywhere but nothing works, i load USB Loader GX version 3.0 r 1268
First of all I have a PAL console, and I downloaded a PAL region skyward sword iso because i thought it had to be the same region as the console and I did everything right it loads the game on the USB loader gx menu and the "preview" and a music plays like in a normal cd but it goes to a blackscreen and disconnects my wiimote and i have to turn it off by keep pressing the power button, after installing all the isos everyone recommended me so many times and changing the video region to all of them, nothing worked nothing at all so i decided to download another iso (my internet is really slow and i didnt do that sooner because it takes like 5 hours to download the iso) this iso is a usa iso and now the problem is that there's no "preview" and its all white, and when i try loading it it goes back to my homebrew channel. The game sells for at least 40 euros here and i can't really afford it...

follow syscheck guide in my signature.
don't use USA game on PAL console.
installing and following random tutorial is useless, you need to do one single thing correctly : follow what I said in this thread.
2 things : correct cIOS, no emuNAND.

possibly : you need a wiimote+, if you don't have it then you can't play that game.
if it's not an original nintendo product, buy a good wiimote+ or don't play that game.

I actually have a wii motion plus controller, if that's what you meant, and it's an original blue controller

thank you.

your system is good.
did you try to reset the setting in USBLoaderGX? settings > reset.
because you have the correct cIOS, so the problem is either the ISO (you tried different one, so we will suppose the PAL iso is good), or the settings, or the device (or the way you put the game on it, always use wiibackupmanager!).

Also, be sure to plug the drive in USB Port 0.
do not use Flash drive, only HDD.

i always use the wiibackupmanager to turn iso games into wbfs, and they turn into 2 files .wbfs and .wbfs1 (i only tried downloading skyward sword) and i put both in my flashdrive that's formated to fat32 and 32kb and i create a folder on there called wbfs and inside that i create another one with the game id the european name is SOUP01 and the usa game is SOUE01 i put exactly like that and inside i put both files, but in a flashdrive maybe that's the problem but the files always appear on my console, also yesterday i tried playing a gamecube game and it worked, it was a usa game. I tried resetting the usb loader a lot of times didn't work. ill keep trying with another pal file from another website if that doesnt work i might need to get an HDD

flash drive ?
ok, we just found your problem.

also if you use Wii Backup Manager, why do you create folders and put files yourself on the partition?
this is how you should use it : https://gbatemp.net/posts/7592791

If I understood correctly, you have this:
/wbfs/SOUP01/SOUP01.wbfs
/wbfs/SOUP01/SOUP01.wbf1

if you do, it should be fine.
so maybe the problem is the flash drive, but I thought you had issue only with zelda and other games where working fine, so I didn't thought it could be a flash drive issue.
if your other games are working on that flash, then maybe it's another problem with zelda.
reseting the loader setting was to be sure you didn't change the required setting for zelda : alt dol, block ios reload and IOS slot.

Yes that's how i put the files, i usually just transfer the files to a folder on my desktop and then copy it to the flash drive i didn't know you had to do it the way of the link, ill try that! I'll try the settings too

UPDATE: It still does not work, not even the video, i tried what you said and it just goes to a black screen again i tried different video modes and the alt dol i tried the player.dol to play the video (cause ive never seen it) and still nothing im starting to think it's because of the game file itself

I am having issues with Skyward sword. The weird thing is that a few years ago the game perfectly, I actually played the game all the way through. Now it freezes with a black screen. When booting I always get the Wii safety screen, it then calibrates my Wiimote correctly. It almost always freezes before the start screen. When starting a new game it has frozen on the opening movie. Although I have made it to game play so it is really weird! 9 times out of ten I don't make it to the start screen.

I don't understand why it would work and then not. I think the only thing I updated was the USB Loader.

Any ideas?

Hello.:)

Did you play your Wii games from an HDD or an USB Thumb Drive/USB Stick/PenDrive ?

Thank you.:)
