We've already seen Skype being rolled out onto other platforms but speculation has commenced that Skype will find its way to the DSi. The latest rumor has been sparked by a comment that a Skype rep made. The respective rep noted that whilst he could not comment on any future plans to bring Skype to the DSi, it would technically be possible he revealed to a tech publication.

Most interestingly (and pertinently) the Skype rep added: "Whilst we can't comment on any future plans to bring Skype to Nintendo's DSi, it would technically be possible."

Which, in a very roundabout way, sounds very much like a 'yes' to us. TechRadar will bring you more info on Skype for Nintendo DSi as and when we get it.

At the stage it's at now, Skype can not run at full speed on a computer (with an OS running as well, of course) with processor power equal to the DS.

Skype's core has seen a lot of optimization and stability fixes over the last two major releases, but it still has quite a ways to go if it's expected to run, with video no less, on the DSi. If I'm not mistaken, the technical specifications for the DSi's upgraded RAM are not known by us hackers.

Technically it is possible. Technically N64 emulation is possible. Getting it to run at full speed even with optimization hacks is another story.

Tech Radar is retarded. "It's technically possible" does not mean "yes." I'll be sure to look out for news from them in the future, thanks for the heads up!
