Gaming Skylanders Portal or Power compatiblity

Having spent a small fortune for my kids on the Wii version of this game and recently acquiring a Wii U for them, does anyone know if the USB Portal of Power from the Wii works fine with the Wii U version of the game ? * I've seen the giants wii u game disk on ebay so it would be nice to let them play it through again in HD.

Sorry to be pedantic but is that with the Wii U version of the game ? (I've read it works fine for vWii).

Yes. Both the wired and wireless portals work with the Wii U version.
