'Skull & Bones' The Pirate Game From Ubisoft Gets Delayed

In this week of delayed games, Ubisoft seemed like it did not want to be left out and announced that its pirate game Skull & Bones will be delayed as well.

“Ubisoft has decided to give itself more time to develop Skull & Bones to offer players an even more engaging experience,” Ubisoft said in a press release.

In a blog post update today, Creative Director of Skull & Bones Justin A. Farren had the following to say to the fans:
Our goal remains as clear as ever: build a shared systemic open ocean that captures the essence of the pirate fantasy and is full of activities. We aspire to create a game where the act of attacking and robbing ships at sea -- and where every single decision you make -- requires you to carefully assess the risk versus reward.

We also are building a world rich in lore and stories, where you’ll come across memorable characters and have the canvas to create your own stories. Letting you set your own objectives and to take down your rivals on your own terms is key to the experience we want to create.

As a reminder, Skull & Bones was announced during last year's E3 as a customizable pirate experience taking place during the Golden Age of Pirates by choosing your own captain, recruiting your crew and sailing the rough seas to join the ruthless struggle for supremacy in an open world game. The game was then expected to release sometime in Fall 2018.



Farren also added that the team will showcase some of what they have been hard at work on during the last twelve months during E3 2018. The company announced that the game will be delayed to next fiscal year that is between April 1, 2019 and March 31, 2020.

This is like a 1:1 sea of thieves clone from the looks of it

If
Bethesda = shooters + savages,
Then
Ubisoft = seas + pirates

Looks like someone is seeking for redemption of glory and correction of failures.
I'm not a ubisoft fan (only a rayman fan) but they came out with the pirate theme way before sea of thieves.
Remember that this game looked like assassins creed 4 without the assassins creed part when it was announced.

This game is basically just taking the naval combat from Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag and recycling it into a standalone experience. Essentially, It's just them recycling content. Also, it doesn't resemble Sea of Thieves in any way except that it's pirate-themed, gameplay's completely different. Also... Ubisoft did it first :teach:

I know buddy. The thing is that id bet that most gamers will not see it for what it is. The gameplay is different, but the setup is the same. Then it will be the same in the gamers eyes. The thing that attracts gamers are the changes. The most evident ones. Thats the reason the games like god of war 4, and monster hunter world sold like hotcakes and the best sellers among the series of theirs, there were very huge changes. Improvements they want to try and attracted to.
