Sixth Sense....Kinda

No, this is not about ESP. Get a job, ya hippies.

This is about a theory I had in the shower (hurrrrr), this morning.

Sexual attraction (apexing in arousal), while oft relying on the other senses, is not really able to be classified as parts of any of them, and it does have tools of its own in order to sense them (pheremones and such - although, humans do not respond to them as well as other animals).

In addition, fetishism is something that can be described as favoritism towards certain things, if assuming that sexual attraction is a sense, and that is common amongst the other senses (visual arts, music, delicious food and the smells accompanying). Granted, fetishes oft have a cause from early childhood (take into example Freud's development theory - oral, anal, phallic, etc. actions at certain stages provide a sexual response, and being fixated on a stage for too long can carry over into adulthood, when self-realization is completed).

I dunno.

Any thoughts?

hmm, uh huh, uh huh, interesting. I agree with you. You might have something in that rambling mess. (being dyslexic and misnomic has given me a sense of leaping to conclusions from very little)
But what was your theory?

That the body is it own tool for itself?

Well, of course the body is it's own tool - the rest of our senses are parts of the tool that help us identify the world around us.

Sexual attraction helps us identify the people around us, and their reproductive value to a certain extent.

And no, this isn't about fetishism - just pointing out, mainly, that fetishism isn't something limited to sexual experiences - some people like the smell of gasoline, for example. I'm completely comfortable with any fetish I have xD

Okay I knew that (my love of leather - worked in shoe stores just for the smell alone, big long sigh)(yes I am smelling some now)
but sexual attraction does have a tool to look for itself - the entire body - the brain is just an offshoot aid in comunication for procreation purposes.
