I have 2 questions. I followed a guide on another site for softmodding my vWii and everything has been working great. However I noticed that this guide recommends dumping your IOSes which is something the other guide never said so I haven't done it. I noticed in this guide that it says to dump the IOSes before installing the CIOSes. So my first question is is it ok for me dump my IOSes now or do I need to do something different. My syscheck is below if that helps.

My second question is how do I download from github? I'm trying to download YetAnotherBlueDumpMod from github using the link in the guide but I don't see a download button anywhere. Thanks.

I tried to use d2x cIOS installer on vWii, but it only wants to download something, which fails.

I guess I need to put my dumped IOS wads (56, 57, 58) somewhere on the SD card, so they can be patched, but where?

You don´t need it, but it´s always good to have a backup of your files.
Don´t mix with other files, only use the files provided with the zip in the first post, it will automatically dump the IOS from your vWii and use them for installation.

I already said this in the first post:
    ///EDIT:
I updated the first post to make it even clearer, since some people still don´t get it:

Very clean and clear to understand many thanks.
The only part I struggled with was getting Wiiflow to boot my Wii games,But changed to Usbloader GX which worked instantly.

No, you can update the Wii U just fine with cIOS installed.

I noticed this part in the OP
Do we know why yet? Cause ive been facing that issue ever since I had to get a new hdd. The weird part is that the same hdd works fine with the WII. So, is it something wrong with the d2x cios for vwii? Is there something we can do to "fix it"?
By the way, I'm guessing that your recomendation to change cios in the loader is for the cios the loader uses to boot. Correct? Or are you referring to the cios used for launching games as well?
Any help would be very appreciated.
    Thanks.

To be honest, i can´t remember about the context of that advice, it´s been over 3 years that i wrote most of the guide.

If it worked on Wii, it might be a power problem, since the WiiU USB has lower power supply.
How do you power that HDD?
Does it have it´s own power supply?
You could try an Y-cable first.

Nope. Its not power. And yes. I use a y cable.
The hdd works if i use ios 58 to launch it.

    no.
HDD can't be shared between WiiU and vWii.

The WiiU deletes the partition table, and formats the drive to a single, full, WiiU partition.
You can't have partitions on that drive anymore, so no FAT32 or NTFS, or anything else than WiiU.

Hi, looking for a bit of assistance. I installed the homebrew channel no problems, but i am having trouble getting wiiflow to work.

After getting homebrew installed, i followed this guide. http://wiiuhax.com/wiiuhax-com-tuto...king-on-the-wii-u-step-by-step-noob-friendly/

These are the file names i put in the root of the folder.

    00000001-0000003a - IOS58 v6432.wad
    00000001-00000038 - IOS56 v5918.wad
    00000001-00000039 - IOS57 v6175.wad

    These were renamed to :

    IOS58-64-v6432.wad
    IOS57-64-v6175.wad
    IOS56-64-v5918.wad

The remainder of the guide was followed verbatim.

When i launch wiiflow, i can see all the games minus the covers. When i select a game, it shows the the animation of the game in the right hand corner, then i get a black screen which switches off my wii mote. The game fails to launch

My hard drive is a primary partition, and i used WBFS file manager to load the iso's onto the hard drive. I am using a Y cable for my external drive.

I am not sure what i have done wrong. Can someone suggest a plan of attack pretty please. I really dont want to brick the vWII, and if i i am on the brink of bricking it i might as well just ditch the idea of running backups and upgrade to 5.5.

What games/homebrew use emunand? I'm about to install and am leaning towards 53alt.

EDIT: Are these the right files for YABDM? I just clicked "Download ZIP" on github and got these in the extract:

I followed the steps in the opening post (page1) to install the cIOS for loading wii backups iso (on vWii) via USBloaderGX or Wiiflow; I have HDD its properly powered, my games in a "wbfs/GAMEID/gameID.wbfs" (folder) at the root of the HDD, USBloaderGX recognizes games, i boot a game, sends me back to HBC. Likewise Wiiflow does the same thing. Trying it with SDcard "wbfs/GAMEID/gameID.wbfs" (folder) Wiiflow detects, attempt to boot, sends me back to the vWii menu (USBloaderGX doesnt seem to support SDcard). Now- i have tried the two options (d2x-v10-beta53-alt-vWii , d2x-v10-beta52-vWii) Neither has made a difference. Could anyone tell me what i might be doing incorrectly? I will attach sysCheck, txt as well, Cheers :)

I have been using USBloaderGX v3.0 r1260 (loads with IOS58) for months to load Nintendont games, which they have never had a problem. With the wii backups (wii game icons show alongside the gamecube game icons) i have tried editing each individual game ios setting to 249 , 250 or 251, doesn't effect anything either.

The exact same folder hierarchy and the exact same HDD, works fine on a regular wii.
