Silent Hill Transmission stream scheduled for for March 13th, 2025

GlthZCWWEAAn7RO.jpg

Konami announced a whole slew of new Silent Hill content for the upcoming years back in October 2022, and since then, fans of the franchise have been able to experience 3 things so far out of what was announced, with the first one being an interactive television series called "Silent Hill: Ascension", followed by the short side game called "Silent Hill: The Short Message", and the latest one being the long awaited Silent Hill 2 Remake.

There were also 3 more things announced back in 2022, with a movie based on Silent Hill 2 currently being worked on, and two more games from the franchise, Silent Hill: Townfall and Silent Hill f, still left to be properly unveiled outside of teasers.

However, in a recent social media post, official accounts from both Konami and Silent Hill have announced an upcoming Silent Hill Transmission stream, in which Silent Hill f will be uncovered and more details will be shared about the title.

The social media post seems to only mention Silent Hill f, so it is still unknown if the stream will also touch upon other Silent Hill content.
Silent Hill Transmission will go live on March 13th, 2025, at 3:00pm PT / 6:00pm ET.

I was bummed when the Suikoden livestream didn't announce any new ports. I'm hoping the Silent Hill Transmission has some interesting new announcements, though only a single game, Silent Hill f, seems to be the focus.

What does "f" refer to? "Frequency?" Silent Hill f=1/T=ω/2π?
I'm getting Kingdom Hearts vibes just thinking about it.

FLOWER.

Its what I'm assuming it means, many folklore on it.

Tokyo Ghoul or as its natively known as the Red Spider Lillie's which is what it looks like in the footage.

The Red Flower that grows like vines to trap the female and then later seen consumed by it.

Im guessing like many others uses of it, means coming death, which would fit Silent Hills theme.

So, id say the F is based on The Red Spider Lillie (f)lower.

So, what you're saying is that the f has nothing to do with frequency?

Seriously, thanks for the rundown.

Well personally I'd say the clue in the trailer, why it has this in the first place and what its meaning is.

But the symbol f is frequency but the flower seen i think is also key, I don't think anyone has noticed the flower or its meaning.

Frequency, possibly as its a repeating occurrence between the dimensions maybe, but this evil seems to be more towards the plant, maybe enemies too?

Why isn't Silent Hill 1 remake on the roadmap? 2 was more of a standalone game, so it makes sense to remake 1 and then 3 next.

That has to be surely on their heads.
Either they do Silent Hill 4, given how they did keep the Walter Sullivan references in SH2R, or they have to do SH1 next.
They can't do SH3 without SH1 first.

I was just joking, I bet you're on the right track. Personally, I rarely watch trailers, so I base a lot off the official artwork and short announcement articles. I used to be big into trailers during the PS2 days, but that fascination ended with that gen.

We both know MGS1 and Silent Hill 1 remakes would get everyone's attention. They probably want to space them out like Capcom did with Resident Evil. That way, they'll have a (likely profitable) development roadmap that'll last about a decade.

That has to be surely on their heads.

It's interesting, I think MGS2 and Silent Hill 4 tend to be divisive releases in their respective franchises. While MGS2 sold well and will likely see a remake, Silent Hill 3 and 4 did not sell as well as the first two SH games. It does beg the question if Konami would consider remakes of SH3 and SH4 as profitable ventures.

To me SH4 is by far the most interesting out of the bunch for me, and the one with the most potential to have create liberties with, and if they nail Walter Sullivan's character, they will have their best antagonist from the series hands down, as Silent Hill isn't really known for its villains.
They can do a LOT with the Room aspect of the game, falling back to PT ideas implemented into Henry's apartment, and then the classic Silent Hill style for the rest of the game.
For once, I think that creative liberties in the later half of Silent Hill 4 would do wonders for the game to be better received by the public, but given its instance as the black sheep of the original Silent Hills, they will no doubt go for SH1 next.

Silent Hill 4 is such an interesting game because it spent quite a bit of time in development, and to me, it shows. (I forget, weren't SH3 and SH4 developed at the same time with Team Silent being split?) SH4 has an eerie polish to it, and I appreciate how it controls just different enough from the other games (not to mention the apartment gameplay itself) while also having a unique difficulty to it.

It's a fascinating game that differentiates itself from the others, but some design choices would absolutely scare away (lol) some players. You have to be more methodical in some areas (like the escalator with the wall hands swiping at you), not to mention all the things that chase you during the second half of the game. The conditions for the best ending are difficult to pull off too.

I'd be down for a remake of it, but I'm not sure Konami's executives would look at the numbers and give it the goahead. That's the type of game they'd HD Remaster(tm) to see how it fares in the marketplace.

Yeah I agree with those sentiments.
It's such a shame because SH4 is my favourite of the franchise just for the sole reason of Walter Sullivan, and then SH2 comes close after.
I'd love to see this game given the love and detail and deserves, it needs to strive away from the naming convention of being the black sheep of the franchise and it deserves a spot to shine on its own, with the issues that plague it properly addressed.

I feel like it'd be a long time before Konami even considers the prospect of an SH4 remake. It would be cool, though, considering all the small details. For example, better modeling and animation when looking out the streetside window would be amazing. The fact that the game revisits areas might actually decrease the amount of dev time required.

I wouldn't rule anything out, but the industry is in a different place right now. There may be demand, if the other remakes (if they are made at all) sell well.

For those who lived the PS2 gen, this was when gaming was great.

We had devs that actually wanted to push console hardware to its limits and come up with new games and ways of playing them.

To think SH2 was graphically great, then came 3 then 4 all on the same hardware that came put way back when DreamCast came out.

Now devs just rehash the same crap that has very little difference, just dull boring online modes, ohh snd everything locked behind digital paywalls vs gaining unlocked content for actually playing the game.

Though sony still manage a decent job at getting some new titles, I fear too many will jump on the remake bandwagon and id rather keep fond memories of the good old days vs playing a trash cash grab remake.

Or end up re playing my younger years remastered, because what will this generation have for memories when they're our age.

And will these remasters then be re remastered for that new generation, because they'll either not be able to replay them on that console and/or its graphics will be shit.

Hey you never know, Nintendo by this time may have actually caught up with the likes of the PS5/XBX SX hardware lmfao.

Username checks out.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that misses the creativity of the 6th gen and before. Back then, the "AAA" companies were also the ones making some A and AA stuff. For example, Capcom made Devil May Cry and Resident Evil but also Haunting Ground and Shadow of Rome. There was even room for smaller devs and publishers, so there are tons of hidden gems.

Oh yeah, and Silent Hill 2, 3, and 4 came out for the PS2. #OnTopic
