I considered joining the Marines sometimes soon, but I CANNOT get over the fact that they expect marines to fight life-size chess pieces, gigantic monsters, dragons and wizards with only 3 months of training:

I just heard a comedian talking about these ads.

He said something along the lines of "You know some country out there has a dragon that only the government knows about, why else would they have us training to slay dragons? I think Bush should call up whoever has the dragon and be all 'can we join your side?'"

The chess one had an awsome ending. Out of no where, completely unrelated, a marine shows up: "Maybe you can be one of us." [IMG]

its a shame half of the people who join the army these days think they are joining up to play some chess because of these ads [IMG]

    I am disgusted. Seriously.

Does that not count as false advertising?

Nope, this is just being funny. I believe "Be all you can be" to be false advertising. The correct line would be "Be all you can be, provided all you can be is a brainwashed cannon fodder."

They never fought with swords. The marines were first formed as riflemen, lol. However, the sword they held in the commercial are all for decoration, not for slaying dragons.
