I want one of this... How much it cost? Can you send in Italy???
It will send a batch of 100 products after this one of 10 products (just for be sure that's not heavy problem in first batch). If you will buy one of these we can split the delivery. It costs 10 € just for delivery. Maybe we are around 30€ just for the product. 35€ at least in total.

@MatinatorX what's the name of the supercapacitors you've used? Do every supercapacitors work?

I'm guessing based on price mentioned and capacitance, it's an Elna DSK-3R3H224U-HL or similar (the render seems to indicate one in a similar style to this). Could be wrong as I don't know where he is purchasing from!

Very very close! It's actually the Elna DCK-3R3E224U-E. It's the same cap, just with smaller, single exit style terminals so the board footprint is much smaller. I also have a bunch of the Korchip version mentioned earlier in the thread on the way. They're both identical so whichever I can get cheaper will be what I use.

I didn't realize when ordering from digikey that despite being a Canadian site with a Canadian domain, all prices are in USD. Didn't find out until I got the PayPal receipt, so tonight I will be part sleuthing to find better prices.

Usually I use and recommend Mouse but they don't carry either cap. Worst comes to worst I can keep ordering from Digikey but I might have to ask $25 USD instead of $23 per dongle so I'm not in the hole for the first few batches. I'd really rather not do that though, so does anyone have any alternate suppliers they've had a good experience with?

I do have some good news though, it's pretty much a guarantee now that I'll be getting an Anycubic Photon in the next few weeks so I can print future batches myself. (And actually print in black and not just dark grey).

I know that eBay and AliExpress are way cheaper for parts but for shipping actual boards to anyone but me I don't trust them.

Future Electronics seems to have a decent price on the model I mentioned (no sign of yours on there): http://www.futureelectronics.com/en....aspx?ProductID=DSK3R3H224UHLELNA6063649&IM=0

Newark seems to be lacking anything close to it for anywhere near a good price, same deal with Sayal and E-Sonic -- I'm out of sources on this one.

I honestly would rather you charge the extra 2 bucks to keep you out of the hole. I am more than happy with that increase in price for a quality product from someone willing to go out on a limb and create new.

Agreed!

I did some more digging on price, looks like if you can somehow adapt to use the model I mentioned through FE, with shipping and (Ontario) tax included it looks like you can get 100 units at about $1.26 a piece.

@MatinatorX

Did you count how many people from Germany want to buy one?
I would think that could be a whole batch. (or atleast a big share of it)
If nobody with more motivation and trustsomeness than me wants to recieve the package, I would take care of this job and "distribute" them within Germany.

Unfortunately there's not really room for the larger footprint of that model, but I really appreciate the effort in helping me find another supplier! I've attached a screenshot of the Eagle layout so you can see what I mean.

It's really tempting to go the AliExpress route since you can get them for $0.69 CAD each if you order 100, but I have no idea if there are knockoffs of these etc. so I'm not going to go that way until I can be sure they're genuine. I've learned the hard way in the past that anything more than resistors have a high chance of being fake and not working right, and these days places like Mouser are quite competetive for small passives so there's no point in risking it.

Anyways, the parts all showed up today so now I'm just waiting on the boards!

Thanks for the suggestion! I actually spammed a bunch of sellers on AliExpress that have good feedback, reviews that aren't fake and have been around a few years to see if they're able to provide proof of legitimacy of the Korchip cap (because it's much less in demand and less likely to be counterfeited) and some have actually followed through. One of them is giving me a pretty good price if I order in quantities of 100 or more, so I ordered a batch of 100.
