Should we wait on buying a pc handheld

As much as the community knows SteamDeck has still been hailed king. We've all been seeing these $800 but where are the $400 options to compete? I kind of want something newer that's windows based but unsure if I should wait or buy a open box rog ally.

You aren't gonna find a new handheld PC at that price point unfortunately
I don't think so we know how fast the market escalates you can get a decent mini pc under $400. These $800 are just price gouging with little performance to the deck. I get steam pulled it off over game sales but I feel like something may drop.

Maybe looking into a used ROG Ally would be your best option if you don’t want a Deck? In the UK they regularly go for £350 or a bit lower if you keep an eye out, which is almost on par with the Deck. Handy if you actually like Windows as an OS.

Edit:
lol yeah just spotted the open box Ally comment in the main post. It is a good pick though.
