Hi,

After copying the new Luma3DS v10.2.1 boot.firm to the SD card, should we run the "Setup Luma3DS to CTRNAND"
Script to put the new Luma in CTRNand??

from: 3ds.hacks.guide/finalizing-setup

Section VI - CTRNAND Luma3DS

  1. GM9Megascript”
  2. Select “Scripts from Plailect’s Guide”
  3. Select “Setup Luma3DS to CTRNAND”

Thank-you
Mike

Well this is for a 3ds that already has CFW but I needed to update Luma to 10.2.1 because of the system update.
So if I just replace boot.firm on SD card but not in CTRNAND, will there be a problem?

It is generally a good idea to update `boot.firm`on CTRNAND, as otherwise you may not be able to boot SDless. You can do so through the script that you mentioned

This is the correct answer. While it isn't necessary to update `boot.firm`on CTRNAND when you update Luma, as you'll still be able to boot your hacked system and make use of all of Luma's functions regardless of if you do the step, but if you want to ensure that your 3DS is recoverable should you find yourself without your SD card, then it'd be smart to follow that step. I'd say it's optional, but it ensures your system is all the safer from potential issues down the line.
