Hacking Should I upgrade to System 4.0? If so, why?

I'm running System 3.3 with custom IOS36 rev9 installed and USB Loader 1.1.

Should I upgrade to System 4.0 with the instructions from this link?

What is the benefit to going to 4.0 from 3.3?

Only real benefit is being able to run channels from the SD card. If You have no need for that, no need to update.

the only only only only benefit about 4.0 is the reading of titles directly from your SD instead of copy them and then playing them thru the main menu, thing that I find really stupid, so I'm stayin' at 3.2...!!

Thanks for the information.

One thing I just noticed though is that preloader can skip disc update checks and other neat things but it only works for 4.0 (or 3.2).

I guess that's another reason to upgrade...

To me the better question would be why not update? The only reason currently not to update is that we no longer have the twilight hack on 4.0... so if you absolutely still need the twilight hack for whatever reason don't upgrade.

Though by all means, if you're happy with your setup as it is... there is also no real reason to upgrade. Just do whatever you're happiest with.
