Hey guys, I'm in a moral quandry this time. I want to get OoT, and I have sufficient money to get it WITHOUT trading in my only 3DS game (Nintendogs Golden Retriever), but I'm considering trading it in, as once I get OoT, I won't be motivated to feed my dogs each day.
HOWEVER, the other side of it is, being a sucker for cute puppies, I'd feel guilty trading it in to earn some extra cash on the side, and feel that the next owner won't care for their pets as well as I did.

What should I do?

In your situation,

keep it then. And save enough to get OoT.

What if the next owner forgets to feed them?

Are you willing to take that risk?

I'd keep Nintendogs, they're not just virtual pets, they're your life long friends

Realize that your "puppies" are just a collection of 1's and 0's developed by some nerdy japanese guy to manipulate your emotions...

Once you have that down, you'll have a much harder time enjoying your pet and thus your trading them in will be even easier.

You really know how to put things into a cynical point of view, don't you?

Already got a real puppy, there's my other reason for trading in Nintendogs.
QUOTE(aminemaster @ Jun 10 2011, 09:20 PM) trade it in to get money for the upcoming games like kid icarus and kh 3d etc
and if you have a ds and a flashcart get nintendogs on ds

Played them, got bored with them, sold them. It is rather simple and time consuming to keep them happy, thus why I'm considering selling them.

I did this with DS nintendogs. She died of cancer aged 21 months. That doesn't happen on Nintendogs.

It did however, inspire me to get more dogs and no more nintendogs

If you don't make sure the next owner of your Nintendogs are going to treat them well, I'm going to sue you for animal cruelty!

Also, your Zelda signature pic is squished.

Awww, that's so cute!

I reckon here and there you may want a break from the serious gameing on OoT and want to play with them. Seeing as you do have enough money, I'd keep them for now..give it a few more months or so and see how you feel about the game, and how much use you're getting out of it.

If you're really not playing Nintendogs at all after say..4 months, hand it in for a game you really want...if you can >_

you do realize these aren't REAL dogs right? It's a game... 0's and 1's and all that.

You can kill your pets by pressing:
(and holding) a, b, x, y, l, and r

Put them to sleep if you're worried about the next owner.

I wouldn't trade a game in unless I'm bored with it.
Ask yourself if you're bored of it June 29th(I think it's out 30th or 31st there).

How much did you get it for?

How much will you get for trading it in?

For me, I don't trade my games in if the difference is more than £10.

Why would you trade it in when you have enough money, you still like it no and there always is a time that you come back and play with your puppies again.
In the netherlands I can buy it the 17th of june is it really so much difference?

You asked for the forum's view in general, so I gave you my view on the subject. It doesn't change the fact that what I said is quite true... and viewing it as such and helping give you perspective will allow you to make the choice with less imagined guilt.
