Yeah. So I was thinking about selling my PS2 to save up some money + some more money for my birthday (in 1 week) to buy a Wii. Because if I wait I will get a Wii all the way on Christmas because we can't afford anything right now. So, should I?

And one question, will GameStop buy a modded PS2? Because mine is modded since I bought it. If no, then who will buy it? Or can I unmod the PS2?

Based on your money sitaution, and the longitivity both consoles currently offer, it's not worth it IMO

going in abit more depth, the ps2 offers many more high quality titles than the wii does (I'm not saying they're BETTER, just that the ps2 has MORE high quality games). Such games can also be found for a cheaper price, so unless you feel you've played all the games that it offers I don't see the point in switching to a wii. If you must get a next gen console, a 360 would currently have my vote.

The Wii still hasn't got the game library to justify a swap.
I don't think that selling the PS2 in order to save money for a Wii is the right thing to do right now.

In my opinion, only sell your PS2 when you are no longer playing it, and you're sick and tried of it and have no interest in the upcoming games for the PS2.

Yeah, if your tired of playing your PS2...I say sell it.

Don't sell it to GameStop, they won't give you very much for it - besides, you cannot sell it to GameStop because it's modded.

Sell it online, or here at the Temp.

Oh, and if you're wanting a moddable Wii - I wouldn't count on finding one.

I'm not going to get a moddable Wii because... well, I just don't want to. It's much harder and complicated than downloading Roms. [IMG]

If you like RPGs never get rid of the PS2, as it has the best librarys, PSX and PS2 for the genre. My modified Launch PS2 is still connected to my T.V. but I never seem to have the time to play anymore. [IMG]

Keep the PS2. I'll admit I don't have one, but the Wii seems like a gimmic-y light-hearted multiplayer console to me, whereas the PS2 is a better all-rounder. The games are cheaper, and there's bound to be something in the catalogue you haven't played yet.

I bought my PS2 last November. I bought my Wii last June/July (forgot which). I play the PS2 a whole lot more than the Wii.

I'd say keep the PS2 until either you get a PS3 (and play the games on it) or PS2 emulation on the PC is good enough to play your favorites on it.

Keep the PS2, if you plan on getting a PS3 in the future it probably won't support PS2 games.
The European 40GB model (only one available once the 60GB model has gone) doesn't play PS2 games at all and the current Euro 60GB model has software support.

As much as I wish I could say, "NO. DITCH THE PS2, THE WII IS FRICKEN AWESOME", I'd say keep the PS2. Really, while the good games will come out eventually for the Wii, it's just not worth selling a PS2 for it.
