I was currently looking to preorder a Wii U searching every top retailer store here in the US with no luck at all. Seems they are all out of stock, but then came across this, http://www.frys.com/search?cat=-69044&pType=pDisplay&fq=100733%20Wii_U
Seems kind of weird that all stores are out of stock, but Frys has some or do they. They have it set as Special Order, what does that mean, dont quiet get it. Is it preordering the item, and if it is should I.
    Thanks for your time guys

Do it at your own risk. One look at that link and I can say I would rather wait to get one than pre-order it from them.

By the looks of the Special Offer passage, it seems like there is no guarantee to get it day one, though they won't charge you until the item is on its way.

But the question is, will I still be able to get 1 day 1 from any other retail? If I perhaps go early into BestBuy around 8-11am day 1?

If pre-orders are sold out then I doubt you will be able to get it day 1 anywhere by walking in. It is always worth a shot to try. Never try never fail :P

I love Fry's its my number one retail store for any thing electronic I even got my Wii there when every where else was sold out, I bought every thing I have to make my computer there the place is like a retail verson of newegg to me. But I would not trust there web site as I had trouble with it in the past trying to buy some usb 2.0 ports that was just retarded, and left me wondering if the site is at all linked to the actual store.

If you can go to a actual Fry's location I think your fine I know the ones in Dallas and Austin are pretty nice which is saying alot considering how bad Austin is lol, but I would not trust there website.

I just finished calling them, they told me that its the same as preordering the item, that they will ship it as soon as they get it which is on release date. Shipping seem to be reliable as it mentions Ground, delivered between 7 days. I will probably take the chance since there is no other option, and as long as they dont charge me till its shipped Its fine.

Well this all happened to me around five year's ago, and the people in store were trying to convice me that the store is not linked with that web site, I even had a print out with me at the time. Seems things have changed in that time hopefully it has and its all legit now.
