Carly Simon
No Secrets
mrthrsimon.jpg

Hey folks, GBAtemp WiFi Night is over and we needed to get it off the front page accordingly. After some discussion on our IRC channel, it was decided by me that I should put one of my favorite album covers up here. Banger, in particular, thought this a fine idea.

So until some other important news comes down the pike, please enjoy the lovely Carly Simon, from her album No Secrets, posing on what must have been a somewhat chilly afternoon.

A little about the album, courtesy Wikipedia:
No Secrets was Simon's commercial breakthrough album. The album itself hit number 1 on the Billboard charts and went gold, as did its leadoff single, "You're So Vain", which remained at number 1 on the Pop charts for three weeks, and at number 1 on the Adult Contemporary charts for two weeks.

The music on the album is quite good, and the hit single "You're So Vain" had Mick Jagger of The Rolling Stones singing backup. Though I preferred her eponymous first album content-wise, this album remained one of my favorites for many years, and I still pull it out from time to time, mainly to gaze at the cover.

Carly Simon is amazing! And so are her neeps!

The duet stuff she did with James Taylor is some of the best music ever recorded (lest not we forget they were married).

their divorce ended up fueling a lot of the hits that they both had afterwards. pretty emotional stuff.

the 70's
the good:
the 70's were still a time of free love and tight shirts (and no bras!!

the bad:
the pants (bare midriffs were only a dream. instead we were saddled with what would be considered as "grandma" pants rising above the navels)

It was my brother's album. Emphasis on the word "was".

(It went "missing" for good when I turned 12, God knows why.)

Oh, here it is!
