So, I've been working on this assignment for school: we have to make a frogger-like game using XNA (PC).

I've exercised maximum liberty and decided to go with a Zelda themed frogger.
You can see some screenshots here:

Does anyone know how I can share my game?
I've sent it to a friend and it said some components were missing.
So I've followed the instructions here: http://www.xnapost.com/help.html#xna_gse
it says to download XNA Game Studio Express (which is a hassle already), but once my friend installs it, he's required to install Visual C# Express 2005 + SP1... gahhh!
this sucks, I just want to share my damn game...

    Any idea?

    Thanks in advance [IMG]

osu! osu.ppy.sh if I remember correctly, only required a single DLL which came with the program.

    This DLL is called Microsoft.Xna.Framework.dll

EDIT: Apparently you might need the XNA redistributable setup to get that file, otherwise you probably already have it. Check the C:\Windows\system32 directory.

Can't you just compile it and send him the binary?

    Its not advertising. Don't spam.

well, of course I sent the binary.

If anyone wants to try it btw, it's over here:
    http://gbatemp.net/up/phrogger-2levels.rar

(only 2 levels completed so far)
but like I said that shouldn't work without what I mentionned above.

If anyone can figure it out thanks for letting me know [IMG]

If asking for help on something was advertising, then this forum would have no purpose.

In addition, my post on was on-topic. I suggest reading the entirety of posts you reply to as not to make yourself look like an idiot.

Apparently Visual C# Studio Express requires the .NET Framework 2.0 [IMG]
cascading requirements... this smells like Linux, hehe.

Anyway, I doubt my friend will go through all this mess just to try a simple game.

Your game won't run for me with the DLL that comes with osu!, but apparently there's another DLL.
    Microsoft.Xna.Framework.Game.dll

Well, it IS a .net programming language.

    EDIT: Try this http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...;displaylang=en

does anyone have XNA & Visual studio express installed?
I could send the source in order to see if I did something wrong...

Looks like a cool game. How many lines of codes did it take? Too bad you had to use C#... I've heard it's hard... [IMG]

Also, I plan to learn either C++ or C# soon. I know a bit of Java and Turing, which one is a better choice? I would also prefer one that is more fun rather than easy.

I really can't get it to work on anyone else's PC (except those who have the full thing installed, C# studio and Game studio and all)
I'll just give up for tonight [IMG]

Damn I wish I could help. 4 people presented their project that they did on XNA earlier today and they seemed to know how to get the games working properly on the terminal PC for the classroom. It's a shame that I know none of them personally and that today was the last class/final.

Hopefully you can get as it seems like a fun little implementation. Hopefully it's not one of those things that bug you for hours upon hours and it ends up being a really trivial mistake.
