Am I the only person who doesn't like how this game looks?

Street Fighter should NEVER EVER go to 3D. Ryu looks like he's constipated now.

What she said..I mean, look at this:

Looks like an ugly fan art.. I played SF 2 -and it's different versions- everyday for at least 5 years, this makes me dies a little on the inside... It was easier to ignore SF EX

I don't believe that. I think that one they perfect cel-shading it would be great for a Street Fighter game. Cel-shading needs to evolve to the point where it looks completely 2D, but allows 3D movement (IE Turning, etc). Unfortunately the technology isn't quite there yet.

this is a complete and utter disgrace in my books

when I saw the first image, I thought maybe it won't turn out too bad, but from that point on it's just been fuckin awful.
One thing that pisses me off, is how everyones like "CAlm DOWn the gameplay will be 2d!!!"
first, I swear to god, if there is any fucking "LOL 3D fighting" strafing in the game, I'm killing a dozen assorted kittens belonging to orphans of mixed races.
And second, moving left and right is only a tiny part of what I consider the most important in a street fighter game.
Any retard can get 2D movement done, but this will need canned animation to feel like a real street fighter, you need the real frame by frame information and immediate feedback to get the true gameplay.
Without that, this is just another piece of shit tekken clone.

And with the luxury of 3D, I doubt capcom will stick to true canned/2D animation, and incorporate a bunch of transitions, tweens and maybe even ragdoll to just shit all over the street fighter fans.

I guess I'll just continue sticking to Third Strike.

i disliked arika's street fighter ex series, they raped and polluted the purity of the 2d street fighter games, it will be interesting to see whether this does the same thing in introducing 3d

I like the fighter fighter EX and the KOF 3D "Maximum Impact" series

"Maximum Impact" was pretty close to 2D fighting thu
still suffered from the 3D combo spam thru (using 3-4 hit combo's over and over)

here's an example of what I'm talking about

even though the graphics are 3D, they keep the animation canned, so you have the same 2D gameplay, and immediate feedback/readability

I think they already started it wrong just by wanting to make it look like a sequel to SFII.. using SFII characters.. it's looking too "commercial" to me..

This could end up being either a really great game.. or an epic fail

I have the magazine, didn't read it yet though no time. But hopefully they don't screw it up. SF EX2 Plus Alpha was pretty good for its time but I hoped SFIII would've been a continuation of SFII, big disappointment however later on I came to like SFIII a bit more. It just doesn't have the same feel as SFII. Would be interesting if they can have that feel in a 3d version of the game. And I'd agree, there's no need for more 3D fighters such as Tekken, just leave that to Namco. Capcom should focus more on 2D stuff with updated resolution or other technologies like the above video. I'm more hyped about SFII HD than SF4 though. I hope that comes out soon and also hopefully it is on a DVD instead of having to worry about stupid DRM crap on live.
