So I called up Xbox customer support and asked them some questions. Just need some answers from the community as well.
1. Add-ons for mature rated games can be downloaded from a child account?
2. Child accounts can't download anything regarding demos or trailers, even if you get parental permission?
3. Account I made via xbox.com will work on a 360 after merging, but doesn't get free 1 month gold?
4. Ethernet cable that comes with Pro/Elite is only 20 feet long?
5. If using silver account to get achievements, but online, if you disconnect it will boot you from the game onto the dashboard and make you restart the game over from wherever you last saved?
6. If using the silver account but offline, you can get achievements but they won't be updated if you go online?

1. When you make a live account you have to give a mature Windows Live account, like [email protected] (just an example) with this account you can go to the settings, log in and change the settings so you can download mature rated games. (You have to let your parent do it, or make a mature account yourself, as i did)
2. If you get parental permission you can download everything
3. Sorry i dont understand this question

5. If you disconnect from Live nothign will happen, you can just go on with the game
6. If get an archievement while offline, it will be updated the next time you go online.

3. According to the guy, when I made an account on xbox.com, I would have to "Merge" it with my 360 in order to play, but it would not have free Gold privileges for 1 month because it was made online and not from a 360.

I didn't know that you would only get gold if you made it off the Xbox and because it was quite convenient to make it earlier.

I can't believe you got me with that

I haven't been gaming for such a long time. Been mostly busy with sleep, hardware tinkering and checking GBAtemp frequently.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Hope you've had a good morning.
  • Maximumbeans @ Maximumbeans:
It's going alright thanks :) I know what you mean with gaming time. It's precious where I can get it these days.

I think that's why I focus on just enjoying single player experiences that aren't too competitive
  • Maximumbeans @ Maximumbeans:
    How are you doing?
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
There's also this thing where I'm hyperfocused at night and cannot get to sleep.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
    @Maximumbeans, I'm doing alright, thanks.

That must be rough. Productive I'm sure but hard to balance with daily life

@Maximumbeans, Indeed. I've been working on getting this Infecutus chip to work on my PS2. But after soldering, I realised that a plastic piece was missing from the power ribbon cable to the power and eject buttons.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Now I could go with soldering the contacts from the cable to the connector on the mobo, but doesn't sound like a good permanent solution.
  • Maximumbeans @ Maximumbeans:
Man, that's beyond my brain  I'm no good with hardware for now. I'd like to get into hardmods in future though
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Maximumbeans, Maybe start practice soldering. Get a cheap-ass soldering iron and follow some good YouTube tutorials.

  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Least my experience has gotten better than over a decade ago. My iron would constantly bump into components and break them.
  • Maximumbeans @ Maximumbeans:
Sounds good. I actually did soldering but like 16 years ago for school so uuuuh probably rusty haha
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Maximumbeans, Same here. I did soldering at school from a teacher who I honestly liked since he had plenty of good electronics experience.

  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Maximumbeans, I had a friend who had a glass chess set for their birthday.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
It was like all clear and fancy. Tbf I'm not too experienced with chess, but would like to learn someday.
  • Maximumbeans @ Maximumbeans:
    That sounds really cool

I know the basics but no strategy at all
