Several New Game ideas

Ok I have a serious problem with starting something and not finishing it. If I got $1 dollar for every time I started a personal project and didn't finish it for any reason I'd have enough money to but a PS3 and Xbox 360. So I was chilling today and I thought of a cool fighting game featuring nearly every character (i can remember) from all my failed stories and even ones I'm working on now......Trust me that would be a lot of characters, but any way I'm learning C++ (how long it take you to learn just wondering) so I can make something happen. I also wanted to revive and old game idea of mine called Survival Plus (a game I was making on RPG maker XP) on the DS. Survival Plus was like lost in Blue was better (when looking at the concept...As my friends put it). I just thought I say that but if anyone has any tips to help me learn C++ or to stick with a project then let'em go. I wanna her from you developers out there really or anyone who has a cool game idea.
