Hi all,

I am willing to move to emuNAND and I plan to restore my stock 3.0.1 NAND backup and have CFW on my SDcard partition as emuNAND. I also made sure not to burn fuses, so the idea will be to use pegascape and take advantage of the warmboot methods eventually. I was wondering though how can I go from OFW 3.0.1 (the OFW my switch was shipped with) to 4.1.0 without using homebew after restoring my nand backup (as far as I got pegascape works on <=3.0.0 or 4.0.1-4.1.0, so no 3.0.1 support). The other question is about how to move my current stuff to emuNAND or if I need to reinstall all stuff and backup saves before doing anything. Also, would I be able to link a Nintendo account on my emuNAND to get rid of issues related with some new games, but do not know how and when to perform it in this process.

Last info piece of info I own a MacBook, no boot camp yet, will this be an issue?

Thanks for the help!

If your system is patched then a physical copy of these following game has update partition you can use to update to the specific firmware.
Bayonetta 2/ Gal Gun 2 (4.0.1)
Kirby Star Allies (4.1.0)

Why do you want to update from 3.0.1 to 4.1.0 ? I assume the script that works on 4.1.0 will also work on 3.0.1 since the exploit should also be there. Go ask the pegascape discord before updating, the lower firmware you can keep the better. Also after restoring your nand you can first create your clean emuMMC partition with hekate/Nyx and then update via ChoiDuJourNx (without applying autoRCM if you don't need to). As long as you create the partition before booting a custom firmware you'll be fine, hekate won't get you baned as Horizon won't even boot nor have a chance to comunicate with nintendo's servers.
As for your second question the emuMMC partition will be an exact copy of your switch internal memory, you won't have to reinstall anything, all you'll have to do is to move the content of the NINTENDO folder at the root of your SD card to the new Nintendo folder associated with your emuMMC partition, which is indicated in the emuMMC menu of Nyx (usually something like sd/emuMMC/RAW1/Nintendo).

Thanks for the reply. I will indeed ask on their discord, from the website it clearly states that pagascape works only for ranges 2.0.0-3.0.0 and for 4.0.0-4.1.0 (I am not considering 1.0.0 of course).

I have understood that you have to create you emuNAND before restoring the NANA backup , in order to back up your current CFW sysNAND to migrate it to emuNAND CFW without having to transfer all your nsps and saves again. Am I missing something? Could you please elaborate a bit more about this process?

Also, I heard that you can upgrade OFW using Choidujour on windows, does that bring any risk of ban?

Yeah that's true the pegascape website never mentions 3.0.1, maybe the vulnerability that allows the exploit higher than 3.0 was introduces in 4.0.0, but that would be surprizing.

Ok I realise that what I said was wrong because I misunderstood what you meant by "move your curent stuff to emuNand." From what I understand you are now on a recent firmware with CFW and want to move that to emuMMC (your first post is quite clear actually but it was late when I read it ^^). So I'll list the steps I would advise now that it is clear :
1) Make a complete backup of your curend eMMC (Boot0, Boot1 and Rawnand) and save it safely on your computer. This is always the first thing to do, so if anything goes wrong you can restore it. (No reason for anything to go wrong but one is never too careful, especially if your old 3.0.1 backup is corrupted).
2) Create a free partition of 30Gb at the end of your SD card.
3) Boot to hekate/Nyx and use the tool to create your emuMMC partition. This will copy the curent state of your "unclean" nand, with all it's content.
4) Check the path indicated as "Nintendo Folder" in the emuMMC menu of hekate. At the root of your SD card there is a Nintendo folder, move all of it's content to the path indicated by hekate.
4) Check that your emuMMC partition works fine by booting to it with hekate. If you were offline or had 90DNS set up this will still be the case on emuMMC so don't worry, if you weren't banned before you won't be now.
5) Reboot to hekate and restore your clean 3.0.1 backup.
6) Boot to your Sysnand normally, without CFW, to check that it works. I assume you didn't have autoRCM when you made the backup so you should be able to boot normally without hekate. Note that if you were connected to the internet when you made the clean backup then you'll still be conected, so if you want to be sure that the console won't download any update maybe turn off your wifi first or go to plane mode as soon as HOS is booted.

Now comes the question of how to upgrade to 4.0, assuming that the discord confirms that you need to. You should be able to use Chodujour on windows, but I think it's a bit of a pain to do. I you really want to be 100% safe you can either do that or update via a gamecard as advised above.
Otherwise boot to CFW temporarely only to use choidujourNX, update your console this way (I assume you'll want to disable the autoRCM option in Choi if your goal is to use pegascape), and reboot to OFW. It should still be "clean", especially if you disabled the telemetry option on your nintendo account if it's a european account. And anyway after that you'll set up pegascape which includes 90DNS so your switch won't comunicate with nintendos servers.

(Here is a tutorial about how to disable telemetry on a european account, follow the step 2 of this link : https://switch.homebrew.guide/hacking/caffeine/safetyprecautions)

Feel free to PM or hit me on discord (same username) if you need more help.
