There used to be a thread for this, or maybe I am just searching by the wrong term..

I am looking for some more styles for how the games flow, and also interested in customizing the styles.

1. I am wondering if anyone has created a visual app for creating them?

2. Is it mostly just guess and test or how is this accomplished?

3. Where is the forum now for where users are sharing theirs?

4. Can I remove the styles I don't like from my .ini file without messing anything up?

5. How do I know which style is which effect?

It's looks like a bunch of very long decimal numbers (floating point?), and I can't imagine having to guess this all by hand.
(If these guys do, I give them props!)

Does anyone know if there is a list of what each variable in the .ini actually means?

for example the "camera_osc_amp_4_3" = (in plain word descriptions) ?

If you look at the adjust coverflow settings, you can guess the meaning.
It corresponds to camera oscillation scale.
The source code can help too : menu.cpp or menu_cftheme.cpp.
Or ask one of themers experts like mamule for example.

I'm not going give a course on the themes, I do not pretend to have the capacity.
But if you have specific questions, I'll gladly answer.
Adjust coverflow is propably the worst, when you start. On the wii, change the settings one by one and see what is it really. IMO, the best way to understand.

camera_osc_amp_4_3: in french, is "amplitude d'oscillation de la caméra (4:3)" :D

1) I want to use a different coverflow for each emulator..
For example I would like to use the horizontal view for the SNES, but different ones for the other emulators (some may use the same one).

2) So far I deleted the predefined coverflows, and have added one of my own, however it always seems to use a default setting (that I can't find), then switches to my defined one when I press button 2.
I would like to eliminate the default one, and have it use my predefined choices automatically.

2) you can't eliminate defaut coverflow. There are 3 for each view (wii, channel, plugins..). If your theme declare only 1 coverflow, 2 and 3 will be those of default.

the number of coverflow are declared in [_COVERFLOW], [_BREWFLOW], [_EMUFLOW] in the theme.ini under this line "number_of_modes=X".

so, if "number_of_modes=X" is less than 3, default flow are displayed.

I have already asked to handle this differently, but the GUI is not the priority of the code apparently.

1) You need to have all emuflow you want in the theme.ini, and declare in the source_menu.ini each flow for each plugin

ex in source_menu.ini:
[BUTTON_X]
...
emuflow=Y
...

Y= the number of the emuflow you want for that
