Things are about to get serious...

In a teaser trailer released today, Serious Sam 4: Planet Badass was announced:

The title is said to feature the signature Serious Sam gameplay on a "brutally bigger scale", and not a single desert level. The title is even said to "elevate the iconic full-throttle action, massive hordes of enemies, and explosive array of weapons to the next level."

While a full reveal is expected for this year's E3, Croteam and Devolver Digital are inviting gamers to wishlist the game now on Steam for the latest news and update.

Neat. Serious Sam games were always some of my favorite FPS games from the 2000s era.

I would like to be hype, but I just can't do it anymore. I'm a skeptical rotten hearted cynic. I loved playing Serious Sam back when I was like 7, finding the rocket launcher on the first stage and always getting crushed by the alien boss.

Devolver Digital being the publisher is the only thing that is giving me hope right now. I hope they haven't lost their touch and we get another shooter as good as DOOM.

The "elevate the iconic full-throttle action, massive hordes of enemies, and explosive array of weapons to the next level" just screams open world to me. I'm imagining something like Just Cause, and its making me even more skeptical.

    explain why it feels weird?
the video is very tipical for the franchise lol

this game is cool, its kinda a modern duke nukem\doom, where basically monsters come at you and you shoot them down, there is also secret areas and you find weapons in the maps
    its very fun

Looks weird to me because of the modern graphics. But i only played the first one way back when so.

Serious Sam WAS created to be a parody of Duke Nukem, and even makes references to him twice. And so far it does a better job at it.

I felt BFE to be lacking in scale until the very end, but I suppose that's okay since it was a prequel that shows how he becomes this badass. I can't wait for larger scale battles.

I've been playing all the latest Serious Sam releases cooperatively and they have not llst their touch at all, in fact they are rather conservative. They seem to want to stick to doing what they're good at and just polish that, and I applaud them for that.

Serious Sam is a series I go to when I just want mindless killing of literally waves of aliens in coop, and that's what it's all about.
