Hacking Sent in n3ds on 9.2 for repairs, should i be worried?

I thought about doing that one time..but I didnt know there was another serial under the battery

Walmart didn't even open the 3DS the one time I returned it. Swapping the backplate would be next level to the poor minimum wage workers that don't care one bit if walmart is being scammed or not.

I just had someone at gamestop try to sell me the warranty for Majora's Mask 3D because when the internal clock runs dry it will stop working -__- before that, he told me MM3D was pre-installed to my MM n3DS XL which I also had pre-ordered

Apparently the reason the C stick was not working properly is because of the screen protector if anyone was curious. Sucks, wish i found something about this sooner. I'll most likely receive an updated system now over something minuscule. Hopefully they don't charge me the 30-50 dollar fee since it wasn't their fault.

what brand of screen protector did you apply? just for the record. i used the hori ones and they seem to be ok so far.

Don't remember, but it wasn''t intended to be used with the 3ds. I used a cut out of left over ipad screen protector.

Buy a new one, swap the back plate with your old one and return it, I can guarantee they will not check anything else, they probably won't even check the back plate.

They take down your ID information when you do returns in aus and you'd have to lie and say the system is sealed. We don't have walmart in Australia lol. If someone else returned it as defective or returned it to the store I'm not sure what would happen to whomever would try something like this.

There is no way in hell they won't update it. Nintendo is the most greedy company out there, their first and foremost concern is preventing even 1 pirated copy of a game.

I mean, they even covered the microsd slot in order to need a screwdriver to change it, and the only reason they did it was to inconvenience cia users, along the legitimate customers....

No to mention it's burned into the actual NAND chip? It's not like changing your PC case magically changes your MAC address too.... I see no benefit in swapping the back cover at all.

I was not aware you can copy files on the SD card over wifi. Didn't think the 3DS allowed it. So enlighten me, how are you doing it?

What does it matter if they update it? We don't know anything about Gateway's nn3ds support. There's zero reason to think that 9.2 will be supported and 9.5 won't. The reason 9.3 blocked gateway is cause they updated the browser. the nn3ds doesn't use the same browser so there's no correlation at all there.

Just one offtopic question... Do game dumps through gateway transfer the header? is there a reason why they're in 3ds format and not 3dz?

Yes they transfer the header. You can simply rename them .3dz. You can also strip the header and re-use on other games although there's confusion between public/private headers and the bans that are being laid out by Nintendo.

Thanks for the info. Are people with no headers getting banned as well if they leave thier wifi on and try to access the online components by accident?

You can't access online services without a header. I would assume this is safe but read through the Ban thread for better info.
