Hello so i setup hombrew, d2xcios and usbloader i got some games on the the hdd and everything was working. however i downloaded some other games and wanted to put them on the hdd on my pc. i converted them from iso to wbfs via wii backupmanager. everything went good.
now when i launched the usbloader.(i connected the hdd before the wii was booted) and is trying to boot up a game, i get kicked out to the wii menu. Everything shows up in the usbloader.

is there something i have to do after adding games on my hdd on the wii??

how i setup everything:

homebrew:
d2xcios:
usbloader:

my wii version: 4.3e
my hdd: WD elements 1TB SE

i dont want to touch anything since you know more than me. also, every game i have used with wbm has been an iso except wii resort. that was already a wbfs file and turned out the same as the others.. just wanted to say that.

Hello.:)

Please post a sysCheck that we can see your Wii Setup is correct.

Please use this Manual to achieve it:
https://gbatemp.net/threads/posting-a-system-check.300279/

You can attach the sysCheck.csv File or Copy/Paste the Content (simply use the Windows Editor for it) in your next Answer please.

Please check the following Points:

- USBLoader GX latest Version v3.0 r1272
-
please check the USBLoader GX Loader´s IOS - 58 (recommended) or 249
(USBLoader GX Settings - Global Settings - Loader Settings - Loader´s IOS)

- Your HDD is connected to the correct Port 0:

- Your HDD is formatted with FAT32.
- Your HDD is recognized as MBR Drive and not as GPT.

- did you have One or more Partitions on your HDD ?

- Please verify your ISO´s with an MD5 / CRC-32 Calculator Tool:
http://esrg.sourceforge.net/utils_win_up/md5sum/

and compare the Result please:

Thank you for your Assistance and Help.:)

neat not to rely on the CDs or similar tho

If they could read games directly from it would've worth it more

So, it can't/isn't a microSD input device?

You would need to hack the Dreamcast to run games from the memory card instead of trying to read the disk drive.
  • K3Nv3 @ K3Nv3:
Don't know if it's that hard dreamcast had no write protection and it's basically a ps1
  • Veho @ Veho:
I guess you could make a bootloader that would just run off a CD and tell the console to read and run a game off of the memory card?
  • K3Nv3 @ K3Nv3:
They could potentially get GDEMU (GD-ROM Emulator) to read from vmu like how ps1 has mx4iso
  • Veho @ Veho:
Thing is, the Dreamcast was so easy to pirate I don't think anyone bothered to hack it.
