    Greetings!

Its my 1st time here so be gentle.

Was trying to install the Waninkoko 4.2 Firmware Updater, but afterwards my Homebrew channel wasnt working.
So decided to downgrade back to 3.4

It seemed to be going fine, but now I cant even get the main screen up.
All I'm getting is a black screen

    Any suggestions???

Was wondering if I did send it to Nintendo, would they know I have HBC installed, and if so what would they do?

You could have stayed on 4.2 and fixed that HBC issue quite easily...had you read the dozens and dozens of accounts of this very issue here in the forums. Downgrading is NEVER a good thing to do.

Anyway, no, if you see a black screen that is pretty much all Nintendo repair dept is going to see either. Call in for a repair order and hopefully you are still under warranty so that you don't have to shell out any cash.

Sorry, but you have to send your Wii to Nintendo.
When you updated you installed "Boot2v4" which means that you will be unable to downgrade, resulting in said brick.

Umm, downgrading to 3.4 is fine and dandy with boot2v4. After all, boot2v4 first showed up on consoles shipped with that firmware version.

What you CAN'T do is downgrade BELOW 3.4 since older IOS's are incompatible. The brick was likely caused by downgrading the System Menu without installing a functional IOS50 or something of the sort.

It'd be good to read this:

It wont be under warranty, its about 2 years old now.

Would Nintendo discover I have HB installed tho?
If they did, what action would they take?

They won't be able to tell if you have homebrew since they don't have magical goggles that can see stuff beyond the black screen of brickiness.

Does anyone think they would go so far as some sort of jtag nand dump and examine it in any way what with all these unmodded systems getting bricked with the 4.2 update? Surely they would want to check these bricked systems out ?

It'd take time that they probably don't care to spend. It's kind of like how Microsoft often repairs RRoD'd 360's even when the seal is broken and the console has been modded. They don't even bother checking at this point.
