If I send my new 3DSXL to nintendo with boot9strap installed, would anything wrong happen? I don't know if they will know if I installed b9s and take my new 3ds away. All that I need repaired from them is a cracked top LCD screen
Well, do it yourself would be the best, but if you do send it in it would only get sent back without repairs. Honestly if that's the problem you should make it look stock, maybe no sd card in it? And try it

bad stuff man... but, if you havent got luma installed in your ctrnand, rip your sd card out, and send it. they might not be able to see that you have some precious hax. but first, do a system format.

Nintendo can easily detect system modifications, even after a system format. A full uninstallation of b9s is required to make previous modifications undetectable. I recommend getting an acekard 2i mainly just so luma can be reinstalled after the fix.

I actually have no idea how to uninstall b9s, since when I ask, everyone says "You have no reason to do that etc. etc." Can it be done from SafeB9SInstaller?

What is exactly wrong with the console you have? If its a problem you can probably fix it yourself after understanding what's wrong, or you can send it in to someone here who can fix the problem who has some experience with repairing consoles,

And since its modded, the warranty on it would be voided. So if you want them to repair it you would have to pay them, and if they detect any "unauthorized software" on the 3ds unit they will just send it back since its not eligible for repair.

If this hasn't been said already, don't bother sending it to nintendo, they will refuse service, the system is no longer within warranty or you already broke the terms of service. (the person who installed it on there) In short, if your system is modified anyway software/hardware Is a waste of time to send it to nintendo, they won't do anything about it. You better off asking a member here on the forum if they can fix it for you.

Well, if he removed B9S, formatted the console and sent it in without the SD card there's no way they'd be able to detect any traces of homebrew.

Yeah but then how is he going to mod it back with 11.4, he can't. (Besides with a hardmod.) So why even bother when someone else could repair it who is exciperenced here? Once you remove B9S there's no way to get it back once you send it into Nintendo, since 11.4 Firmware (On the 3ds.) Needs a hardmod to mod again (You have to adjust the 3DS Hardware to work with a mod application.) (Oh and when you send it in, they update it to the latest firmware. Its mandatory.)

As I've mentioned before, if the op purchases an acekard 2i, they can mod the 3ds even after b9s is uninstalled and be able to restore a nand backup.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Well I dunno what nintendo has up their sleeves. But would he really want to go through that possibility especially if it doesn't work?
I bring up the acekard 2i method again considering it's a few dollars for future proof. If they buy one, the worst case scenario if they uninstall b9s is that they get the 3ds sent back and they use ntrhax to reflash their nand backup.
