Hooray for chinese rip-offs!!
As far as I can see this is an official SEGA product

Looks quite nice for 30 Pounds but these things are nowadays pretty much inter´grated into smartphones...
Lets see why I think its fake...
1. Cheap Generic-o box. Looks like the Dingoo or similar devices and not a proper retail package. Look at the Holographic 2GB logo, have you ever seen that on any proper retail product?
2. I live in Europe and have never heard of this thing. If it was a proper Sega release there would be ad-campaigns and everything
3. That cheap, generic menu system. It has no animations and just screams Chinese.

Edit: Turns out this thing was a prize in certain Sega crane machines. I still can't believe its actually made by Sega though, it just looks so cheap.

If this has no digital-TV tuner (DVB-T) its useless for watching TV in most european countries..at least in Germany (no analogue since 2009) and France which will do it till End of 2010.

Judging by the same things you noticed, the holo sticker and generic menu, I'm willing to wager that SEGA simply saw these $10 MP4 players, decided to write 'SEGA' on them and throw it into their machines for people to be suckered into them because, since they're in the machine until you win it, you won't be able to realize how cheap it is until you do so.
