Seems like the flood of prejudice on a nintendo system, not beeing capable for mature games is gonna start once more

i wonder whether it will stay just sega or also other publishers are gonna jump on the train and the wii, which is already abused as family console, childish or perfect for casual gamer is going to be a 'pure' console for children like the gamecube before. It isn't gonna fail, thats not what i mean, but a lack of publishers who bring out real, good games, without included rainbowview won't be good news for the hardcore gamerscene, since ninty won't handle it themself

You do realise that the best horror game of all time was developed for the Gamecube, yes?

This isn't really all that surprising now or is it really "news"; everyone knew Sega was going to opt out of hardcore games.

Surprisingly, I find Ubisoft picking up a lot more hardcore Wii games. NMH 2 and Red Steel 2 this year show it.

...and what was that game? Cause I've played them and I wouldn't call any of them "the best of all time".

It's not a great horror game (since even a pussy like I could play it without being startled), but it's a fucking awesome action/survival horror game and an overall great game in general.

    Sega likes spreading rumors, eh?
First Nintendo makes a price-cut on Wii, and now there won't be anymore adult games on Wii?
What's next? Sonic getting Nintendo's mascot?

I found RE4 to be quite atmospheric.

    oh gee...

MadWorld, black n white and bloody as hell... slash slash slash and... it seems really fun... nah... The novelty would wear of in a couple of minutes.

The Conduit, it recieved low scores in many reviews (I know I know, don't listen to reviews blah blah) but honestly, it didn't even look that interesting. at all.

House of the Dead: Overkil... I mean, come on! a lightgun arcade game with horrible (intentional) b-movie standards all over...

all these, for full retail prices... no wonder they didn't sell too well... and dissing the wii JUST because of that is kind of lame. and also: Exactly How mature are those games anyway?

No Sega, your games didn't sell well because they weren't that amazing, that, any the wii is sadly piratable as all hell...
Do any of Sega's games sell well these days?

Didn't their effort practically work on the presumption that these games would encourage core gamers to buy the wii for a more varied selection of games? Trouble there is their games don't typically sell consoles.

Seriously fuck off!! I know SEGA hasn't been making top quality games, they can't blame them for trying. At least they won't go shovelware crazy like those other game developers then again maybe they will...

    They're trying, sure.
But I don't care for how credible they're trying to sound, talking about the wii needing a drastic price drop and how the wii failed them more than they failed it. (Their average metacritic score across 28 games is 62.39)

I, I really lost faith in Sega, sorry. :|

    Yea, I have it.

As for Sega's stance...they've always been a bit behind and underdog of other consoles. I'm not sure if it's marketing or what. They had some great games, but pretty much lost all the console wars. Then they get out, team up with Nintendo, and blame nintendo for their new failure.

As someone said...maybe these companies need to realize that if you are going to charge $50 for a game, it should probably last longer than 10 hours. All the games they listed were like that. Not necessarily bad games, but very short. Dead Space extraction was better than any of their adult games, and even it suffered from being short...but alas, they already dropped the price on it like crazy.

What's so mature about The Conduit, Mad World or HotD: Overkill, anyway? Way to mistake "gory" for "mature".
These games may be rated M, but come on, the enemies in all three of these games are more hilarious than scary, most comic books nowadays feature more disturbingly graphic content than Mad World, and the only people getting the giggles from Overkill's hundreds of F-bombs are immature teenagers, the same demographic that made the bad horror flicks on which the game is based so popular...
That aside, two of these three games suck ass, so once again Sega is clearly failing to acknowledge the real reason of their bad success.
Might as well try to offer a snuff porn audience some Itchy & Scratchy cartoons.

Well, I think we all know what this means: More shitty Sonic games.

You should give Killer 7 a try. That I will say is very mature.
On another note there are may good mature games out there on the wii. The only reason that they don't catch attention is lack of advertisement. I recently played Silent Hill Shattered Memories... scared the piss out of me. But none of my friends knew about it when I told them. Another reason Mature or Hardcore games don't do so well on Wii is Nintendo. They started the "paradigm" of casual gaming for the Wii.. now they will suffer for it.
