Who knows if it's actually "impossible."

i mean i guess if you name it that way its accurate, outrun would be 1, outrunners would be 2, outrun 2 would be 3 but honestly i dont give a shit, just give us another one
besides most of those outruns are 16 bit- outrun 2, 2006 and online arcade were the only few out of all of them that were actually in 3d
and theyre all just different variations of the same game

We have games that go back over a decade before the PS1 was even released, and we've continued to see 'real' releases after the PS3 descended into shovelware hell. Tons of the games that people are playing to this day started on PCs. And technically speaking, PC is getting pretty close to being able to play all PS1-PS3 games, too.

So I will state again, no other platform has the legacy that PC gaming has.

With a little bit of work on the devs part, many of these games would look considerably better on PC. They could have nice, modern features like cloud saves, etc. That's why PC gamers want their own ports.

I agree, but for those who want to be able to play as many games as they want, regardless of how many homebrew emulators they need to use, regardless of having to play around with settings to get things to work on the PS3 compared to a PC, no console can play, on the hardware locally, no streaming, as many games as a phat PS3 can.

Granted, if you want these PS3's to last a while, you better be prepared to de-solder, clean off the hastily, cheap excuse of a thermal solution and put in some thing far more effective so you don't have to have the fan screaming like a banshee trying to keep these old systems alive!

yeah except pirates do exist, almost every single player focused game released on pc gets pirated to hell and back, only games that have some form of online where pyraci is much harder if not impossible is the ones that sell well on pc, the single player only games that exist on consoles just get pirated to hell and end up not making much money, that is why some developers prefer to make console ports since they have a much safer enviroment to get proffit.

This is a tired argument that has been disproven repeatedly. PC piracy has been decreasing for years, otherwise why did Persona 4 Golden just sell 500,000 copies on steam? It doesn't have meaningful multiplayer, and it was cracked the day after it released.

I mean, let's be real. Everyone port begs for Switch games, but that's about the least safe environment for single player games I can think of. If it's a Nintendo console, piracy is just as rampant, or worse, than PC has ever been.

considering the pc install base persona 4 golden selling 5000 is next to nothing lol, heck even on the vita the most failled console that not even sold 16 million units persona 4 goldene sold 1.25 million.

and you are wrong most people dont hack their switch and you can see that by the numbers of software sales., the wii was the most hacked nintendo console and acording to reports not even 5% of all wiis were hacked.

A niche 12 year old (8 if you count the Golden enhancements) JRPG sold 500,000 (half a million, not 5,000) units in a month on PC. IN A MONTH. The Vita version released in 6/2012 (11/2012 in the West), and by December of 2013 (which is a year and five months), it had sold 700,000 copies worldwide.

I have no idea where you got your stats from about hardware hacking. All I know is that I didn't know anyone who didn't have an R4 card. Some of the other machines are more hit an miss, but 5% of all Wiis is still 5 million units hacked..

vita sold 1.2 million copys acording to vgzcharts on a 16 million install base is very good ,now on pc selling 500 000 on hundreds of millions of the install base would be the same as the vita having sold like 5000 at best.

and remenber the vita was already a dead console and like you showed on the vita on the same time it already passed pc sales on current time lol.

obviously i doubt persona 4 pc will ever sell as much as the vita unless it gets discounted to peanuts in afew years and people get it just becuase.

Hey dipshit. The vita sold 700k units after a year and a half on the market. The pc did 500k after a month. Stop fucking trolling and give it a rest already. And learn to read while you're at i.

No, it's really not. You're acting like having a PC is the same as having a game console when nothing could be farther from the truth. There are still some people rocking Gateways from the late 90s because older computers can do what those people need. Some people have old netbooks because because they portable and, guess what, netbooks do what those people need. PC are installed in schools and business are never have a game installed on them. And despite the fact that P4G is quite low impact, that kid with an old 2nd hand machine they got 'just for school' won't be able to play it either. Plus, I think Call of Duty numbers have altered your expectations of what most games sell. Plenty of little games were considered a success at 350k units. I will say again, for a port of a decade old game, these numbers are off the chart. And that's fantastic! Because Atlus, unlike you, recognizes how great these numbers are, and they are apparently planning to give us more ports. Maybe one day we'll even be the lead platform, like we were for Falcom before they got Sony-fied.

If every single person who bought a PC used it just to game, PC would be a very very huge Juggernaut. The Steam player count would be in the billions.

500000 is a huge number on pc. selling millions in a manner of hours like gta 5 or animal crossing is simply not how the pc game market works.

see how much millions has counter strike or basicaly any pc famous game, heck most fps multiplayer games on pc sell millions without making an effort, pc gamers just buy them to get into online, games without online mp suffer much.
