Installation Instructions
1. Obtain .ISO of G Gen Overworld. Make sure it is an OVERWORLD .ISO, NOT a G Gen WORLD .ISO.
2. Download the Patch files and XDelta from this link:

3. Open XdeltaUI, and open the patch you want to apply.
4. For the source, select your original Overworld ISO.
5. Set an output location, and press "Patch". The output file will be the name of the patched ISO.
6. Have Fun!

High Quality Textures for PPSSPP 1.3+:
1. Unpack the contents of "NPJH50681.zip" into the "[PPSSPP dir]\memstick\PSP\Textures\" directory, if the "Textures" directory doesn't exist, you need to create it manually.
2. Make sure texture replacing is enabled in PPSSPP (should be on by default). It is in Settings->Tools->Developer Tools->Replace Textures
NOTE: PPSSPP savestates are incompatible between non-patched and patched versions. Use normal, in-game saves at the strategy layer before patching. Script changes WILL break saves made in the middle of a level and boot you back to the strategy layer.​

FAQ
Q: Is all the text in the game in English?
A: No, there’s a huge in-game database full of facts about mobile suits, ships, and characters that hasn’t been translated, because it’s simply too huge for one translator and editor to handle it. All the other text you’re likely to encounter has been translated into English though.

Q: Why should I play this when G Gen Genesis exists?
A: This is the only G Generation game that’s in English and has material from the Alternate Universe shows like Wing, G Gundam, SEED, and 00, plus Gundam F91, Crossbone Gundam, and Victory Gundam. G Gen Genesis only features Universal Century units up to Hathaway’s Flash, with the exception of a DLC unit or two and the G Gen original units.

Q: Are there any bugs we’re likely to see?
A: There are probably going to be typos, because the project has essentially been running with one editor working on dozens of files for 90+% of its length. There is also a persistent display error caused by PPSSPP removing Sony’s PSP font from its files – Turn A Gundam’s name in game will appear as “_ Gundam.” To fix this, download this file and install it in \ppsspp\flash0\font.

Q: How come some things look way nicer with the various graphics patches, and others don’t?
A: The graphics patches pulled assets from console versions of prior games, which were made to a higher quality standard than anything that’s exclusive to Overworld. Since Overworld is a PSP game, lots of graphical sacrifices were made to make sure the game fit onto a UMD.

Q: How do I get custom background music to work?
A: For PSP users, follow this guide: http://www.ggenoverworld.com/index.php?title=Custom_BGM_Guide

For PPSSPP users, try creating a /MUSIC/ folder inside the memstick directory, then create an OVERWORLD folder inside the music folder, before using the in-game Custom BGM function.

Also, try using ID3KILL to remove tags, since the game doesn’t seem to like them.

Q: I’m a PSP/Vita player and I can’t get the HQ Texture Pack to work! What’s wrong?
A: It’s a PPSSPP only feature and you’re on a PSP or Vita.

Q: The game is crashing after attempting to load system data?
A: Update to a newer CFW firmware. Pro 6.60 is confirmed working.

Q: My Mid-Battle saves aren't working after patching?
A: Unfortunately this a byproduct of the patch itself and how the saves work. We recommend you finish any stage you're on prior to using the patched copy of the game.

Q: Help, I'm playing the Vita and it won't work!
A: If you're using the Vita you'll need to use ARK Firmware for the internal PSP rather than Adrenaline.
Update: Apparently, Adrenaline can play now.

Hello guys...since this is my first post
i hope we get along
so back to the topic...
currently i in making english translation for this game

so far...i am able to translate most of the menu
like battle menu and briefing room menu(can see at attached files)

and I able to extract the CPK data for the game
by using CRIPackedFileMaker....
then I already found the pilot data,MS data and some skill

and what really bother me is about the ID's number that I extract from the CPK data
is not arrange properly(see at attached files no.3)(the left one before extract and right one after extract)

so when I built the data and put back to game's ISO
the game stuck and then my psp turn off

can someone help me to arrange the ID's number properly??:bow:

*ps(sorry for my bad english,since english is no my primary language)

Woah. You actually found the right menu data. Well then. I may have to help out with this as this is something I've been wanting to translate for a while.

Now about your re-building issue, try using CPK tools to rebuild the CPK. It has the option for ID mode and not Filename mode.

Also if you could list out which files contain what data I'd be more than glad to help out with the translation.

Ah I see. Yes I was trying to get it to rebuild the other night using CPK tools as well, it wasn't working as you already know.

The only way you can do it is by using command line and CSV (where you can specify ID for each file).

The issue with this being there are 12k+ files. The only way I can guess would be to have File ID = File Name +1.

It's not an issue. Just make folder content filename list and then convert filenames to proper IDs using text redactor autoreplacing. I can easily make csv with 12k lines in excel just in few clicks, really.

Attached CSV script and batch file, it outputs DATAUMD.CPK with exactly same settings as original.
You need cpkmakec.exe and CpkMaker.DLL in the same folder.

EDIT: Wait, your program calls for file ID00000 but such a file isn't extracted from the CPK. It starts ID01935 and then goes up to ID29830. However it's only certain files as it jumps up 20k file IDs when there's only 13,190 files.

My guess is you trying to use it with different game. There's Genereation World and Generation Overworld out there (2 different games).

Regarding inconsequence in filenames: game access files by ID only. For example: there's ID 0, ID 2, ID 3, ID 10 files inside original CPK and CRI File Maker while extracting contents assigns filenames as ID00000, ID00002, ID00003, ID00010. Files with ID 1, ID 4-9 simply doesn't exist.

Oh. Yea. Somehow I did end up with world. Whoops. Musti've lost my Overworld ISO. Guess I've be runnin around with Wars, World, and a second copy of world.

EDIT: OK got my copy of Overworld. Managed to find two files thus far with relevant text.
ID00452 contains information pertaining to Mission D3 (Riders in the Skies), while file ID01077 contains information pertaining to mission C1 (The Nightmare of Solomon).

These files include the conversational text, defeat conditions, victory conditions, secret conditions, challenges, and G Break conditions as well.

EDIT??: OK so I've found a metric TON of Data and have been translating a shit ton of unit attacks and names over the past few days. Got through all of UC minus Unicorn and G Gundam. Started on Wing.

Actually I was just thinking about your work on OE the other day. I saw the progress you had made on your other site (Data hacks was it?) and was VERY impressed. I'd like to do a full translation of OE if at all possible.

Ha ha. I know the feeling bro. I've put more than I care to count into Wars and World. Given that Riku gave us a way to put files back into the game I figured I'd give Overworld a shot again. I'm VERY pleased with how things are turning out so far, there are only a few issues. Some things like Mega Particle Cannon don't fit right so I have to shorten them to MP Cannon, since I have little programming experience and don't know how to program tools for translations.

The only real issue I'm running into is the Hyaku Shiki and the G Gundam attack names. Hyaku Shiki is only 2 Kanji or 4 spaces whereas the English name takes up 11 spaces, you can see my issue. Even more so with the Hyaku Shiki Kai since it needs 15 spaces but I only have 6 to work with. G Gundam special attacks like the Sekiha Tenkyouken use but only a few Kanji, but take up MASSIVE space when translated to English so I've had to cut a few of those down as well.
Those issues aside, so far so good.

yeah, hell mode is a lot of fun in Overworld...that red-phoenix guy is the business ^_^"

the mobile suit's and attack names being shorten are great.

for me...as long as the items, pilot skills, and mobile suit abilities are translated...I would consider it a full translation.

the wars break's and, I think it is called, overworld break's are really cool to trigger.

would love to see video and/or pics of this projects progress.

So I already done translate all Character names,character skills and character abilities
Also done basic menu like battle menu and briefing room menu
right now doing for MS naming,done until original Gundam name(except Unicorn,00 Season 2,00 Movie,AGE,Gunpla builder and G Gundam)
plus it make me crazy when translate G gundam unit...haha full of kanji and long name

say CrashmanX...did you solve CPK file built problem?
