Hacking SD Gecko card for GC backups

I have an SD Gecko card and I used the below link steps to try to get it to work. When I run the MIOSPatchingWADInstaller in HBC I get the error "not a valid Wii Application" I have a 4.1U soft modded wii. Any ideas on what to try? Looks like its an older method is their a better new method to run GC backups from a SD gecko card?

SD-Boot 0.4 sucks, wait until emu_kidid releases 1.0.

I saw some videos on Youtube of someone in Japan back in 2008 use SD boot .4 to boot GC games I wonder how they got it to work.
