When I launch a wiiware game or virtual console game from the SD menu and then quit, the SD card menu data stays in Wii memory and I see it when I go to channels in data management.

They are big and take up a lot of space and I want them go away automatically when I quit like how they used to.

Does anyone have any experience with this issue?

it is not an issue, its the way the wii *launches* games from sd
it copies the data from sd to the nand and then launches it, if an other game is launched from sd, it overwrites the old one

Thanks for the reply.

I knew that the game is copied to the Wii's memory but I'm pretty sure that it is supposed to be deleted from the Wii system memory after you exit the game.
I keep a pretty good mental picture of around how much memory my Wii has left and I knew something was wrong when I saw less than 100 blocks free.

I'm on the verge of doing a bootmii restore. I just wish I had not been so slack in doing bootmii backups lately. Last one I did was in August. I guess it wouldn't be that big of a deal for some but the kind of person I am it definitely will bother me.

I'll have to download the updated Internet channel and Nintendo channel again as well as other stuff that I won't remember until I do the restore and then realize.

Or at least that's what I'm thinking now.

And yeah I'm going to get on that Triiforce. I should have done it by now too.

no, it wont delete it after you exit the game, only when you start a new game
that's why their method sucks

Hmm I feel like I would have noticed this before now.

So you have always have, and have right now an icon in Data Management under Channels in the Wii section an icon that says SD Card Menu Data?

Ok I guess I'll have to let it be.
Thanks folks, nicksasa, Helsionium.
Bootmii restore averted.
But I guess I should take this as a lesson and make another backup right now.

Edit: Wait so even after you turn the console off, the data is supposed to stay there?
Edit: Never mind, I'm content.
