if i backup my data tho it will still be corrupted yes?
sounds like its already corrupted, there's no getting it back at this point, if all the file sizes have been altered.

QUOTE(chaseincats @ Jun 15 2010, 05:32 PM) also, any idea why this is happening?
i havent heard of any homebrew having this sort of effect on data, so i'd presume its the card itself, or a function of how you may be mounting it on a computer, if you are transferring files that way.

The data's already a goner. Don't waste time trying to recover the now-32KB files...

If the formatting doesn't fix it, replace the card. Like any flash memory, they're prone to wearing out or otherwise failing.

my friend had the same problem with a fujifilm card (imagine that) it would randomly corrupt n had to be reformatted and data replaced from scratch every so often. He trashed it and got a sandisk. Problem solved

hm, alright then

do you guys think this is a one time thing or will happen again?
That's like asking if you think any given motor car will break down again! You have not even said the make and model of the card!

just replace the card with a sandisk 2gb for $10 at walmart.

its 32gb tho
Possibly therein lies your problem - it could be one of those fake 32Gb cards which are programmed to show 32Gb capacity. Did you ever check the true capacity using something like h2testw 1.4 or check flash? Oh and the 32kb size for files and folders - common with fakes.

Yeah obviously fake cards use good brand names! Many reknown card manufacturers such as Sony, Transcend etc have their products faked.
