Yesterday, my sd card was working as normal but when i had taken it out of my pc after putting some files in, my sd card had stopped working.
Everything on my 2DS XL had vanished and all my pc would say is to format the sd card.
I've tried running CHKDSK but all i get is "The type of the file system is RAW. CHKDSK is not available for RAW drives."

I'm unsure what to do. I'm not sure if I have to go through all the modding steps again and redownload everything.
I'm also worried about my save data. I have a lot of hours put into some games :(

Any help would be appreciated :)

Unfortunately if that card is completely dead you will lose your hack, games and saves. You can easily rehack your 3DS on a new sd card and reinstall the games but the saves would be gone. It's why I make it a habit to often use checkpoint to backup my saves, in case something like this happens.

Sometimes a data recovery program can recover from a Raw drive, but many times they change. I would google it. Usually they only charge for large files but you might be able to recover saves using a free version, but sometimes the card data is too damaged to be read even by a data recover program. I would definitely try it.

For the future here is checkpoint https://projectpokemon.org/home/tutorials/save-editing/managing-3ds-saves/using-checkpoint-r25/

Faiiled to read your edit. Well then I believe you're good even for the saves. But of course they would only be saves from the time you backed up the sd card any progress since would be lost.

Data recovery software like Recuva can help to recover most if not all the files, if just the partition table was corrupted it should still be able to recover filenames, if the corruption is severe you may just get a bunch of unnamed file fragments which you can't do a whole lot useful with.
