Admitting that the graphics are not the best looking for OOT as we have see how good other 3DS games are looking, but being much better than the N64 guess we can't complain. Looking forward to this game.

All the Nintendo first party games have had their lightning effects improved vastly, save for OoT. I really like nintendog's fur shading :>. Also, you can see some new Mii hairstyles! I'm not sure why but that makes me really excited.

They had to remain true to the game's original graphics. It wouldn't be OoT if it had more realistic graphics, like in SSBB, TP, or for a much better comparison, MGS and RE.
The graphics had to look like OoT on the N64. Nintendo could do better graphics like in Kid Icarus, but it wouldn't have the same feeling as playing it on the N64, it would feel like a new game with the same plot, it just wouldn't give you that kick of nostalgia that Nintendo is trying to aim for.

Except for the fact that it doesn't appeal to those who never played the original OoT (like myself). I don't think Nintendo would sacrifice new players for old ones. Take New Super Mario Bros DS for example. Some (all?) of the level designs were the same, but with better graphics, and people appreciated the game for what it was: a re-draw of an old game on a new console. And that's exactly what I want/expect out of OoT.

Nintendo still has time to make the graphics better, since OoT won't be a launch game(or so I heard).

seems like the 3DS will have Gamecube+ Graphic capabilities (maybe almost Wii). Thanks to the big Ram, we can expect very nice games, with high texture resolution and nice effects..but I remember people saying it will look like xbox360 and ps3....nah, never!

What are you talking about? NSMB is not a remake!

Some of the levels were taken from older games, I'm near positive of it.

And those levels were just as effective in inducing nostalgia as would be a 3D-ified OoT but without sacrificing newer, younger players.

mh...no, I don't remember any level which is designed like one of the NES classics.
What you're right about is, that it looks and feels like an mix of Mario Brothers 1 and 3, but the level designs are different.

older OoT screens looked better. Perhaps they were just renders and this new screenshots are done on the 3ds?

The old screenshots are definitely renders, The are supersampled for sure but the main difference is in the lighting the new screenshots seem to use more advanced lighting and pixel shading, the old screenshots look like there is no lighting at all just textures so i actually like the newer ones better even if there are jaggies, resident evil revelations also has jaggies in the actual game.

How come no one is mentioning how beautiful Pilotwings is?

To me the screens look stunning
It is, shame about those jaggies.
Yeah, I was really hoping that this would be fixed. Oh well, I can't imagine it will take away from the game too much.

You've gotta remember the game isn't in action so your gonna see the jaggies, I'm positive the jaggies are gonna be barely visible when the games in motion.

The jaggies aren't bad in this game at all, hate to break it to you but i can bet every 3d game on 3ds will have jaggies in places. The hardware doesn't really support any usable AA methods so i doubt that can be fixed unless the go the nintendogs route and add fur shading to everything lol

This matters little.

indeed it hardly matters, even if you watch the in-early-development games in the software line-up trailer they seem fine enough

from these...pilot wings seems to be the best looking, guess it'll be the standard-3d game from nintendo

When you look at PSP screenshots that aren't bullshots you can see they're ALWAYS jagged, however, anyone who owns a PSP knows that you can't really see them when you're actually playing.
It's probably gonna be the same for 3DS.

pilotwings looks really nice and icarus is gonna blow us away with the effects they put it... zelda comes as a great surprise cuz they look nowhere near the n64 version
i see some "mature" stuff on the ridge racer screens (which have been clearly "exposed") which probably hints to a more mature system in general (dont move back up or else u will see nintendogs) but the cars dont look to shiny (though more stuff in the background probably due to better cpu and gpu on the 3ds)

nice screenies
