"Saving the environment"

The environment is a limited resource, so we have to save it for future generations. Right?

Wrong.

Let me ask you this. You and a group of friends buy a pizza. This is a limited resource. After you eat it, it's gone.

So should you "save the pizza" so others can enjoy it?

Let me tell you from experience, the others will greedily lap it up right away. Do you feel good about yourself now? You ate 1 slice so others could enjoy the pizza - but it's still all gone and you missed out. And more importantly Bob Ratflik over there got 3 slices and you got 1.

Friend, the environment is the same way. If you use less, others simply use more.

So I say this to you. Enjoy the environment all you can. Take every "slice" that comes your way. It will all be gone some day - but what matters is that Joe Schmloe over there didn't get any more of it than you did.
