You Got think more differently than tht-most people I kno like to shop when purchasing anything entertainment wise be it tv cinema system consoles and games because you want it tht day plus you can see the product right ther and you can talk to the shop assistants about good and the bad about the products - people get attached to ther shopping centres as they kno friends tht may work ther and its good to get out and socialise plus nobody wants to see shopping centres look like ghost towns - I couldnt giv cows arse if I'm paying few quid mor for a product yr keeping people in jobs also-if can get something from Yr local shops you should try and do tht first-prob also depends what generation you was born if only known amazon all yr life then I can understand them using it all the time-but I'll be def going to my local game store and buying ff7 remake so to make sure I hav it in my hands on launch day
Digital is that SECOND, not even day, the moment you pay for it it's yours, stores aren't that instant, sure you get the product on your hands, but you have to get home first and then, like I said, for a lot of them you still need to download the stupid thing even if you have it physical, on top of new releases allowing pre-loading (so it's available to play literally the second it releases instead of whenever the store decides to put it on the shelves)! The fact that you have to interact with others at the stores only makes it less appealing to me, I despise humans, let alone having to interact with them, wait in lines because some stupid fuck in front is looking for his pennies and other crap like that, so yup, not a fan of game stores

The only time I visit stores of that kind is when I visit those that have PC parts and stuff since those are the only things I absolutely want to get in person to make sure they aren't mishandled by whoever was gonna deliver them (I've seen WAY too many cases of people being rough with very sensitive parts). As for shopping centres, I couldn't care less, if you are gonna make huge ass malls or districts with stores, you better be able to adapt to the market shifts! That's why I like small, focused centres (eg: tiny malls with ~10-14 shops that all know what they are doing. And I give a TON of cow's arse (like you worded it

) if I'm paying more, I absolutely have to get things as cheap as I can since I'm not really rich, hell, sometimes I can hardly keep up with food costs, let alone having excess to buy games, so if I can get games on Steam/GOG for even 10% cheaper than irl stores, I'll go with the cheaper option!
PS: And don't bring up Amazon, it's irrelevant, game stores close because of online sellers like Steam/GOG, not because of Amazon, Amazon for the most part sells stuff from game stores after all. I never use Amazon and I've only used ebay once, I grew up with game stores all over and even back in the day I hated it, let alone now that they've become almost 100% obsolete.
