Hacking Save File Question

I was wondering, is it possible to change the region code or tweak the safe file for a 3DS game? What I'm trying to do is convert my MH3G save file to NTSC-U so that it'll play with MH3U.

Any advice or knowledge concerning this would be appreciated.

I don't know about the game you are using but i'll explain it in general.

Most of the old gamed (before firmware 2.1.0) are using the same saves for all regions and they are using a different key to cypher the files.
you can open a game from one region, decypher it and then cypher it with a different region key which will make it playable on another region.

Will probably not work if used on 2 different games.
