I was wondering, is it possible to extract save files from WiiWare or Virtual Console games via Waninkoko's Save Extractor? I know you have to insert the gamedisc of the game you want to copy, but VC or WiiWare obviously don't have a disc. So is it possible to copy the saves?

You can do it on one or two games through the Data Management screen.

It's possible..... but not without some effort.

It'll require a drivechip, but you can make an ISO with a modified title id.

Or, you can dump the NAND and try to recompile the save by hand.

Yeah..... I didn't expect it to....

Each disc/channel/VC/Wiiware title has a 4 digit Title ID that represents it. This Title ID corresponds to files on the NAND, which makes it easy for the Wii to index files such as saves.

The Save Extractor works like the WAD Manager -- it's based on Title IDs.

However, since it's already written to look for a disc, it's easier to just make a disc with the corresponding Title ID.

Oh, now I not what you mean. Like RZDP for Zelda and HAXX for the Homebrew Channel.

If I succeed in finding the save files, how do I get it back in the Wii memory?
