    Away from you.
While Apple has really little to no grounds over their frivolous case, does HTC have any grounds?

This isn't the first time Apple gets sued.

Actually I do remember them winning against HTC in some lawsuits just a while ago... this is probably HTC trying to retaliate.

Can't say I'm an HTC fan anymore, their latest phones have all been dull and uninnovative (I had an HTC Touch HD. Nice phone).

Android sure slowed down the Smartphone world, in terms of evolution. The only one who's doing fine in it is Samsung [IMG]

Hmm.. but they are pretty similar

If you ignore the screen content, they look quite a lot like each other.

Still pretty similiar, if ya ask me. The only thing different is the 4 touch-buttons, instead of one home button on the lower side.

And when they're turned off, they're pretty much really similiar in appearance.

    Oh, and don't forget THIS:

This connector shows Samsung's full intention of ripping off the iPad just to sell a few more devices hoping that customers would mix them up.

Well first of all, they are different sizes anyway. The Samsung is acctually bigger.

Plus it is not like Apple have rights to a touch screen tablet, and nor I think they are stealing Apple's design. There are not many design options with regards to a tablet available. 'Oh no, they have a black outside!'

Tablet's have existed for about 20 - 25 years, even HP/Compaq made brilliant tablets about 7 or 8 years ago (and still now), the TC series which you could even argue that ipads look similair to.

Apple are not original in terms of mp3 players or tablet computers, and instead have taken existing ideas and limited them. Holding back the evolution of such devices.

I will admit the phones are stupidly similair in terms of interface, but I don't really care about touchscreen 'smartphones'

To semi-quote the article I posted earlier, they, in Europe have a "patent" to the following designs, among others:

The problem is though, this is the basic tablet computer design that has existed since the beginning. I don't think a 'patent' of a rectangle with a screen has any real relevance.

To be fair, this didn't even affect Sweden since they already had shipped over all the Samsung Galaxy Tab's here, and they even said on national television that they would NOT stop selling them here. So the Netherlands and Sweden were safe from the Crazy EU.... [IMG]

Then again, Sweden isn't exactly pro-EU, either.

But it does have relevance in the EU, and, especially, Germany. Present this in court and you've basically already won the battle. Samsung will now have to somehow prove that the whole Community Design system is bullshit or try convince them that the Galaxy Tab does not look like anything in the Community Design file that Apple used for the ban.

I do know what you are saying, but just look at the HP Compaq TC1100, how can you say this did not exist first, and therefore it could be argued that Apple ripped them off.

This EU ruling is a load of bolderdash
