The day we've all been waiting for has finally arrived, and Samsung just unveiled its third-generation Galaxy smartphone. As expected, it's going by the moniker Galaxy S III,and it's stuffed to the gullet with cutting-edge hardware and software tweaks:
  • 4.8-inch 720p Super AMOLED HD Display
  • 1GB RAM
  • 16/32GB storage, 64GB version "available soon"
  • microSD Card slot
  • Eye Tracking
  • Smart stay: keeps the screen awake while you're looking at the display
  • S-Voice: advanced voice recognition, "like a good friend who listens attentively" -- definitely a strong competitor to Siri
  • Floating videos: lets you resize videos and move them around on the display whilst they float atop other windows. Nice!
  • 8MP rear shooter with zero shutter lag, 3.3 shots per second
  • Best Photo: takes a burst of eight shots, automatically chooses the best one
  • S Beam: Wi-Fi direct meets NFC
  • 1.9MP front camera with "face recognition" and HD video capabilities
  • 2100mAh Battery with Wireless Charging technology
  • Bluetooth 4.0 (LE)
  • Wi-Fi a/b/g/n, Wi-Fi HT40
  • GPS/GLONASS
  • NFC
  • 136.6 x 70.6 x 8.6mm, 133g
  • Android 4.0
At this point, it's safe to assume that it's packing a quad-core Exynos processor, though we're still waiting to hear the official word on clock speed

Dumb commercial for multiculturalism and inter racial marriage (I joke, I joke. :P)

This looks like a juggernaut guys. Thing is going to be a beast.

Oh, and here is a video that is actually tells you about the phone. Enjoy.

Even the 64GB sports a micro SD card port. This thing is a media beast!

I'd say it is safe to say that it will have an S3-S4 SoC Exynos 4 Quad in it. (Like the quoted article says)

From the Verge: "Processor specs aren't mentioned, but it's widely understood that the global version of the device will be using the recently-announced Exynos 4 Quad quad-core system-on-chip — regional variants could be using alternatives, just as the Galaxy S II did"

Unfortunately no A15 architecture for the cores :/ and a pen-tile display ...

I'm used to the SGS I, so the Pen-tile doesn't scare me that much, but it's still a bit of a shame.

What a giant screen! (it could be a bit smaller, but OK)

The difference between a PenTile and a RGB is hardly noticeable, so no reason to complain.

Exynos 5 Dual would be better than Exynos 4 Quad.

9/10, would not sue

Not so satisfied with this device. The only thing which (might) entice me is its beasty quad-core CPU and (expected) better battery.

Its hideous!
Nobody's going to particularily care about that when it sports a quad-core Coretex-A9, a Mali-400MP and 1GB RAM. It eats other phones for breakfast.

Does that really matter when it's a Samsung? It can sport all of the fancy crap it wants.. It's still not as great as the hype makes it out to be.

Oh yes, they will care. Style is a very important feature. This thing is as ugly as sin.

And most smart phone users won't give a shit about quad core or RAM. Only the hardcore gamers. I think if you are really serious about android gaming you'll buy one of those android based portable game systems.
