Hello everyone! I'm GoldenTalesGeek! I've known about this site for quite some time, I just couldn't be bothered to sign up, because I wasn't entirely certain whether it'd be worth it or not. I'm still not sure, but I'm hoping that there's a good community here. The last few gaming forums I had joined before this one were a big disappointment, frankly. Don't worry, I'll explain my username so I don't have to keep explaining it to every single person who asks me "Why'd you choose that as your username?". Basically, it's a combination of my top 2 favorite RPG series -Golden Sun and Namco's Tales series- and the word "geek" because I'm an avid gaming geek. In addition to gaming, I'm also an avid geek about science fiction and fantasy. I'm especially a fan of the shows Doctor Who, Torchwood, and Farscape. I also like the CSI shows, except for CSI: Miami. That's about all I want to say for now. If there's anything you want to ask me -so long as it's not too personal- feel free to send me a PM. Just don't spam with stuff, ok? I get more than enough spam in my e-mail...

    Hi and welcome!
How old are ya? And where ya from?
Me, I'm 38, from Pennsylvania. I'm a retro games geek, and female, so I guess that's pretty rare.
Also like a lot of the same kinds of TV.
One of my favorites is the series on Tru TV called Forensic Files. I love to watch how investigators take the smallest clues and use them to solve crimes...and I just love how damning the forensic-type evidence is.

I wish I'd known about this sort of stuff when I was younger, I mighta gone to school to become a forensic investigator myself, just because I find that sort of stuff very interesting.

Well, anyways, welcome here. Hope you'll find at least SOME of us are fairly friendly...actually, most of us are.

Jump in and don't worry, most of us don't bite!! [IMG]

Don't worry, I don't go nuts with fire. And like Omega_2 said, it's the other people from the romsites you should be concerned about. I'm actually more compassionate than most of them. Plus, I don't use the internet as my excuse to be -excuse my language- a dumbass and harass other people simply because I can be a troll and do whatever the fuck I wanna do. Although, I do have one helluva temper, and a bit of a ruthless streak that goes along with it, but as long as you're nice to me, you'll rarely -if ever- see that side of me.

Cool. I'm into the RPG's and platform games myself, like Pac-Man and Frogger...and, as to RPG's, my faves are the Dragon Warrior/Dragon Quest series, the Phantasy star Series...and the original Final Fantasy. For some reason, I just didn't care for any of the Final Fantasies that followed. I mean...how many FINAL Fanttasies can you have, anyway...what are we up to 13 of them now?? [IMG]

I never got much into CSI, mainly because of the drama...they don't seem to get nearly as much into the science as the other show I like...and I'm there more for the science. I'm fascinated by stuff like that...I could watch stuff like Discovery, Discovery-Health, Animal Planet, National Geographic, History, Tru-TV and SyFy all day long...and be very happy with just those channels. So I guess I'm a major geek.

Sounds like your little brush with celebrity was a good experience, and that's cool. I had one with Patrick Swayze once. He just came into a 7-Eleven I was at one night, in Austin, Texas, when I was still in high school, and he had just finished Dirty Dancing not even like a year before. He just wanted a phone book...and I happened to be in the store at the time, talking with the night clerk, as I often did after my job at the grocery store next door had finished shift for the day.

He was awesome about it. Also met Butch Patrick - actually, I rang up his groceries! You might not know who he was right off, but I did, when I saw the name on his check, and paused...and started looking at him, and then his check...then back at him...etc. He realized I knew who he was, then...and said, "Yes, I am Eddie Munster." I guess he was used to having people do that to him...not recognizing him, until seeing his name.

Also, once met Larry Holmes, the boxer. Everyone just calls him "Champ." He was a cool guy, too. So all of my brushes with celebrity have been good ones.

Well, anyways, again, welcome here and hope you enjoy yourself.
