    wii waninkoko 4.0u
all IOS downgraded to trucha capability

hope this isn't a dumb question.. searched around, couldn't find a clear answer

which is safest easiest way to uninstall preloader.... use Waninkoko's 4.0 updater again? use anyregionchanger? If I use anyregionchanger, do I have to run IOSdowngrader afterwards to re-enable the trucha capabilities? thanks in advance

install the latest system menu wad.

cant link you to it sorry as i think it's illegal, and i dont know what version number it is XD

check here, at the system menu 4.0U hacks. if you look at the codes it sould say menu version vXXX, then just google system menu vXXX wad [IMG]

oh, and install it using wad manager.

Reinstalling the system menu via a wad does not affect other files, they will still be truchapatched

    safest way is

    1. install bootmii, backup your nand flash
    2. install the same version system menu using custom ios downgrader

you are right... there isn't any really GOOD reason to right now! But in the future when bootmii is able to do stuff like preloader does with hacks.. specifically "block disc updates".. there will be no use for it.... right now I am leaving it installed... I was just curious..

or is there already another method to block disc updates by patching the system menu without preloader?

also I have issues with long boot times (20+) seconds with both preloader installed and bootmii installed as boot2... (Yes I have tried multiple sd cards of diff brands.. and yes I know I can just remove bootmii files from card if I want to)

Well there is Starpatch. It can do pretty much the same as preloader.
When exactly does the long loading time occur? Before or after bootmii's menu?

If I have bootmii set to autoboot the system menu (preloader also set to autoboot system menu).... the hang occurs after bootmii loads and after the 5 second built in delay..

so 12-15 seconds between bootmii and the time system menu becomes visible

the 20 second delay will be reduced alot if you remove the SD card when booting i think.

and starpatch (or startpatch cant remember) patches the system menu with the hacks. however i think it's riskier than preloader.

IMO, its safter to have 2 brick protections rather than one. [IMG]

does startpatch patch the executable itself permanently?.. or does it do like preloader and patch the memory on-the-fly?

it installs hacks via an APP and needs to be run from the HBC in order to uninstall again.

so it doesnt have the reset button when turning on thing to prevent bricking.

but if you have bootmii i guess theres no issue there.

That's strange. Then preloader is causing this? But I've never heard of it being that slow.

i was also wondering how to do this. i can't seem to enable any hacks using preloader or starpatch. it's either "couldn't find hacks.ini" or "nothing in .dol file".
i wanted to either remove or go back and try to instal over again. i have a 4.2u wii/preloader .29/ starpatch 4.1. been looking for a safe solution but i'm a noob and need a helping hand.
