Hardware Safe to factory reset the Wii U?

Hello,
I just got a Wii U on 5.5.1E firmware.
I want to do a factory reset to clear the data of the old owner but I don't know if the vWii was hacked previously (I don't have a wiimote atm).
Is safe to reset the console?

Yes, as long as you're sure there's no form of coldboothax installed (in system settings, what programs are installed in internal memory? that would be a good tipoff)
